Hi all sifu out there, I've a set of 17" ori BMW 5-spoke rim fitted on my e46 318i when I bought the car few months back. The rims looks a bit old and have some scratches on one of the rim due to some fender-bender with the road kerb by the last owner. I was wondering where can I get the rims to be repaint/refurnish and how much it will cost me. Now looking at the gun metal or matte titanium silver. Hope sifus can shade some lights to me on the workshops that can do a decent job with reasonable price within the Klang Valley. Am currently working and staying in Serdang/Seri Kembangan area. Thx in a million.

Wheel Recond does excellent work.. sent a few sets to them in the past. However they require you to remove tyres beforehand (that's what happened to me). Alternatively, send your rims to MPS Auto - my last 2 sets were done by them - decent job, acceptable price, and they let you use a spare set of rims while yours are being worked on!

bro, do you have a more detailed address? PJS7/?/ thx for your time.

PJS 7 is the industrial area before Taylors' University in Sunway bro. The shop is quite near the Shell Station before the main traffic lights junction heading to LDP [whether Puchong-bound or Damansara-bound].

Thx for the landmark bro. I tried google the map for PJS7. If I'm coming from bukit jalil towards LDP highway, then hv to make an U turn at the junction near sunway piramid and turn left into PJS7/8. After this, I'm lost as the rest of the roads are labelled with PJS7/x (x = number). However, I noticed on the map that there is a Shell station at the junction between PJS7/13 and PJS7/18. Is that the station that you meant? Hope this would help those who are planning to go there but unsure on the direction like me. Thx.

Finally got my rim refurnished at MPS Auto. FYI, the MPS Auto is just the middle man, and the actual refurnishment is done by a paint shop in Puchong. The MPS Auto will only helps in open, fix, balancing and doing the alignment once the rims are refurnished. Am quite happy with the end results which cost me RM650 for a set of 17". However, the hidden charges applied by the MPS Auto which ends up to a total bill of close to RM1000 spolied a bit of my celebration.... First of all, they charged me 2% for using my credit card for the payment of the rim refurnishement which I think is illegal. Then, the charges for open, fix, balancing and alignment cost me another RM225 which I think it's a bit on the high end (or perhaps that's the standard charges in Sunway area?). Last but not least, the 6% of government service tax of RM53.30 (perhaps, I should asked them to show me the certificate before making the payment). So, the moral of the story is, read between the lines and the very little tiny small print before making any purchase... just my 2 cent.

I did my balancing and alignment at MPS too on Thursday. Total charges RM 193.00 which i think is abit expensive.

I did mine in Wheel Recond, Bandar Sri Damansara.

Bro how did you do it?

Go to a tyre shop, remove the tyres and rims, take it to Wheel Recon in another car (your car sitting in a tyre shop with no wheels) and wait for 3-4 days for the wheel to be refurbished? Or can I rent the temporary wheels somewhere?

I know MPS Auto does make you life easier as they gave you a temporary wheels to drive around in, but their prices are pretty steep and plus Wheel Recon is just by my doorstep as Im in Sri Damansara too, where Wheel Recon is.

Or does anybody have some spare wheels for me to borrow?

I borrow a set of rims from Zak then sent my rims to WR. U might ask the help from zakmt69.

For your info, WR charged me RM400 for totally refurbishment.

Thats good price I think comparing to close to RM1000 as stated by one of the member here when done in MPS Auto. Of course not including the removal of tyres and aligning and balancing.

Bro, my rims spray with silver color so no mirror polishing was done.

From Uncle Vincent' post:

1. Wheels are washed
2. Repair all wheels kerbings
3. Sand blasting the whole wheel inside out
4. Spray under coat
5. Diamond Cut if customer request
6. Spray paint the wheels with 2K
7. Oven bake
