Dear All,I've been digging up information on the above based on old threads but I've yet to reach a conclusion / solution to resolve my windscreen problem (or rather, a hindrance on my windscreen). I'll let a picture do the talking as a picture paints a thousand words.View attachment 29235Does anyone have any idea what may have caused the windscreen to accumulate such dirt / substances? I've consulted a tint shop on this (as well as the tint shop that initially installed the tint on my car) and they're of the view that this problem relates to the windscreen itself and not the tint.Appreciate any kind feedback from UDM members here.

Bro, on which model does this problem occur? If its the newer ones, and still under BSRI, lodging a complaint and requesting for a replacement is an option. Otherwise.......

Apologies, the car in concern is an e90 2007 m sport 325i. Hence, no warranty and/or bsri.

I believe detailers can do it for you. Check out in our vendors place, there are some good detailers there.

You can try using a clay bar to remove. It worked for me.

Hi, did you clean it from the inside or outside of the car? Looks more like its dirty on the insides of the car, if you get what I mean. Thanks for the feedback and will definitely try it! Anyone else has an opinion as to what this may be?

Mine was on the outside. I tried using polish and even steelwool but not effective. Then resorted to clay with lubricant, immediately lifted the dirt.

I think it works the same inside but you have to becareful if you have tinting.

Good luck!

Yeah I do have a tinting so that's what I'm worried about. no worries, will try it out and see how it goes.

One thought, it could actually be the tint film that's causing the discoloration, and not the windscreen itself. Yes TS did mentioned he got some advise from tint shops, but what if....and i mean what IF thats the actual cause, and tint shops try to cover the products they are selling?

My initial thought was the same as well. However, before I make any decision on what to do next, I'll probably use a clay bar first and see how it goes..The other issue is that the tint shops may be trying very hard to cover their defective product (or poor workmanship), but I'm not sure how I can prove them wrong due to my lack of knowledge on the effects of a tint on a windscreen...

One of my family member got the 2007 E90 325i from BMW Premium Selection with the exact same issue on the windshield. It's not the tint, it's smudge collected inside the windshield. Which means that it is permanent.

So we got a replacement from AB Glenmarie at no charge. For you, just run with it and when the windshield hits a rock and cracks, replace them through your insurance.

Hi Fadhlan,

thanks for this. Would you happen to know how the smudge was accumulated in the first place and ways to avoid so?

The windshield was 5 years old when we got it. I guess it's just natural aging process. I've seen a coupla like that too at the Premium Selection garage.

It does not affect the function of the windshield. Plus it's not not blocking your line of sight. So just run with it. Once the Tim comes, replace it through your insurance.

is this something to do with tinted? Try to bring it to any detailers out there or window tinting specialist for further inspection.
