Hello to all Bimmer owners,I'm currently doing a study on BMW. And I need some kind UDM drivers to help me out. If you could please answer the following question. If I'm imposing, I'm sorry. What does "joy" mean to you? Many thanks in advance.

Joy is knowing the BMW you are driving in is the world's best car. Full stop.

Well said!!!

Joy means when there are no "christmas lights" or the "ting" sound coming on from the instrument panel!

JOY means the car starts in the mornings and the gearbox engages in R and D to get me to and from work everyday without the CEL lighting up on the instrument cluster.......he he he

Is question about bmw the car or their joy tagline?

It's in reference to "joy" as a general word. But. If you have an opinion on the "Joy" campaign, it would be much appreciated. Thank you for your reply.

Did you experience this on your BMW?

i like and enjoy bmw but indifferent to the joy thingy. it's like you say, indescribable. when i hear joy, i think packet fruit juice. joy perhaps appeal to broader crowd. maybe bcos marketing and advertising folks can do more with the word. but thats a bit like fcuk and siht. if idea is to make it less motoring serious and attract more buyers to this joy, ie don't stress too much on the engineering, technology and drive siht cos the enthusiasts are not going any fcuking where but lets get more people on board the joy boat and sell more joy joy joy. might as well go crazy and instead of 3xx, 5xx, 7xx model name just bring more joy by giving the cars cutesy names like italians do. oh what joy...

"Joy" is the latest marketing campaign or slogan that aim to achieve wider market penetration then the old UDM (Ultimate Driving Machine) or SDP (Sheer Driving Pleasure) campaign.

Most of us here are hardcore BMW fans that bought the car because of the UDM and SDP. To majority of us, no other car drives or feels like a 50/50 weight distributed chassis BMW, which of course mean nothing to an average lady drivers, who is single with fat bank a/c, that mainly need a car to get from point A to point B in style. So "joy" is trying to capture this sector as well.

Joy is people getting off my BMW lane upon seeing a speeding red BMW coming their way in the rearview mirror.

It's not 'JOY' driving a bmw....not all the time especially when somethings not right...

It's "Sheer Driving Pleasure".......
