Champion, I think you may have a leak at the thermostat housing (hairline sort of crack). Happened to mine, same sort of stain at the same place, over 6 months I have added 2 litres. Recently changed that.

bro, that one not the Auto oil filter. It is the heat exchanger for the ATF fluid. I heard that the water can go the ATF line if the oil seal is damaged. There is a thermostat located at the heat exchanger as well. Change it as it tend to get blocked due to the residual of the coolant after it is expired.

yes...ur rite..haha

Bro, where is the "engine side to behind." This is a little unclear. Can you give a more precise location? And what is the seal? This will help all of us with the same M43 engine locate it. Thanks.

Bro, kat mana ni "sebelah enjin belakang"? Tak jelas sangat. Boleh bagi tak lokasi yang tepat? Dan apakah "seal" tersebut? Ini akan membantu semua yang ada enjin M43 menetukannya. Terima Kasih.

Salut

i had this issue with my e46.water disappears after one day, with no leak detected. problem was with the 'sotong' hose which cost about rm400 to replace. the issue that the leak cannot detect is because the leak seals itself after the engine is hot. perhaps can run the pressure test again when the engine is cold to be sure.

I changed my sotong hose (the one with three branches) for RM320 (munich auto segambut)....quite easy to change it yourself with a bit of will power to yank it out.

I had quite a similar problem, I ve to top up 2 weeks once...Just to know how much to change a head gasket?

I am wondering... do I really need to release the air (coolant tube) every time I want to top-up the water in the expansion tank?
Anyone knows?

Hi guys,

Thank you for your feedback.I'll talk to my mechanic today again. The problem has gotten worst. I have to fill up everyday now. Today it just "minum" 5 litres ! And today for once the temperature indicator showed hot.

The mechanic said it is not a head gasket problem because there's no oil mixture in the water.

At the rate this is going, i tend to believe there's a leak somewhere.

The mechanic will take the car today. Will keep you updated.

Yes it is advisable to prevent airlock in the cooling system.

5 litres of water is a lot of water. Your temperature is going up because you got airlock problem in the cooling system.

Bro, it good to have the mechanic check for the source of the problem. Any delay will lead to more serious problem like overheating.

So dont take chance with this minor problem. It will surely lead to BIGGER problem.

Spend about RM1.2K to change everything to prevent top overhaul which might cost you RM3K toRM5K.
