Various buttons on e36 318

Hi guys, I need some feedback please. On a e36 318, the buttons on the dashboard panel are basically like this:-1 52 63 74 8but i have some questions on which button is for what function. As I know...1 - aircond button (but not functioning...why ah?)2 - aircond button (air coming from dashboard vent?)3 - aircond button (air coming from below dashboard?)4 - auto button for aircond (but dunno how to use)5 - dunno what button (for demister?)6 - aircond button7 - circulation of air inside the car8 - not sure what button (demister?)this may sound silly, but need some e36 sifu to enlighten me on these buttons *paiseh paiseh* appreciate it.thanks
