Couple of days ago I experienced this so call low pick up and suddenly trigger check engine sign while my car suddenly feel like running with low power supply. Than what I did I restart the car and everything turn up to be back to normal. This incident persist several times and when I went to the mechanic he suspected that my fuel high & low pressure pump problem, coil seems to have black stain and spark plug not so efficient. Somehow he advised me to fill up with RON 97 fuel first and run the car to the maximum see if the problem persist...do you think it is advisable for me to do so and what is the problem causing my car not performing as usual. Help me please. Tq

Bro, I got this once as well. Warning light was something like "Power reduced" (cannot remember now). Then felt like car lost mroe than half its power. Stopped at side of road, waited about 2 minutes, started car then suddenly everything back to normal again. So far (touch wood 100x!!!!! :D), it hasn't happened again. Just monitor and see bro. Such a sudden heavy loss of power would not be caused by spark plugs. Though you should change them if they are really getting worn out.

Encountered this prob before. Car lost power and could go fastest I think about 70kph only. Changed ignition coil and prob solved. The cause could be anyone of the things or a combination of them which your mech mentioned. You may want to change one at a time to eliminate the possibility one by one.

Check with a diagnosis system bro, read the fault codes. Once the engine light comes on, it would definately recorded error code. By this way, you dont have to do trial & error. Hope this helps...:top:

Most probably ignition coil. But check with diagnostic.

Agree with you Fadhlan.. Happenned to me last 2 weeks, the engine knocking and sounds like Subaru Impreza.. :hmmmm:
Diagnosed shows that Ignition Coil was kaput. Replaced Ignition coil for piston#2 and everything back to normal :driver:

zack,

The other remaining coils will start to fail so it would be better to replace all the coils. You don't want to be caught with a failed coils during an outstation trip.

For me, I had the engine check light on when I ram to 6000 rpm. And I have the shaking sensation when I'm waiting at the red light. My cylinder 2 was misfiring according to the diagnostic tool. I decided to replace all 6 of them. I got it at RM114 each.
