Underdrive Pulleys

i'm done and over with underdrive/lightweight pulleys after my horrifying experience...back to normal ones which give me better sense of security

total damage came up to RM120 x 2 (towing) + RM200 (aircond belt) + RM2,200 (PAS hydraulic hose assy incl labor) + RM1,500 (used oil pump incl oil & labor) + RM900 (lightweight pulleys) = RM5,040.00

god damn i could have bought a new set of tyres with that

just found out from my mechanic (BM World) there was another X5 3.0 who fitted the same type of underdrive pulley as me in the morning today and went to him in the afternoon with a failed engine oil pump, exactly same problem as me. wonder who's X5 is it but i feel for him/her...

my radiator expansion tank started to leak today but the mechanic said it has got nothing to do with the pulley. but for the failure in air-cond belt, power steering hose & engine oil pump, 90% chance its due to the lightweight crank pulley

Bro ess,i ve a fren facing the similar problems, oil pump kaput seems like the lite crank pulley cause vibration to the pump sprocket. u dont mind pm me the pulley whre u bought from?

good to hear that...may i know what brand you are using and whether it has the rubber balancer? & wots YMMV?

I'm using UUCMotorwerks underdrive pulley and it doesnt have the rubber balancer.

(meaning it may be a different experience for everyone depending on circumstances)

ess530i is having issues with the lightweight CRANKpulley on the engine side and this is not the same as what they called a underdrive pulley which is the one 3cer has for the accessories ie:- powersteering pump pulley, water pump pulley....
