Ahhh..BMW Performance drilled and slotted combo discs looks damn cool. I just fix mine with slotted Brembo GT 6 and 4 piston. You guys should seen the difference between the stock single piston with the new 6 piston BMW performance breaks!! you would agree with me the performance breaks is the second important upgrade.

Pictures! BTW, did you have to swap out the original brake shields when installing the bigger Brembo GT brakes?

woohoo...E46f, those are sick brakes you got there! dont make me drool all over my desk bro...!

Did not have to do that for mine. Any reason why you need the 330 brake shields to install your performance brakes?

Well, based on the install instructions, the new caliper wont clear the existing pre 08/07 330i rear brake sheilds which requires some cutting and workarounds. In addition, the rear discs wont clear the existing 325i brake shields. I ordered the 330i brake shields which is post 08/07 part no (pre 08/07 330i rear brake shield part has been discontinued prob due to the Perf brakes option) which is directly compatible with the rear perf brakes. i.e no hacking the shields involved to get the new rear calipers in.

I figured might as well do it properly. Each shield costs only Rm117 which is pretty reasonable.

well, installed the Performance Intake yesteday..installing took me 45 min thereabout which infact can be done under 20 mins since i was bz taking pics during the process.

the first impression upon completion is wow! the Carbon Fibre air channel piece. started the engine and felt nothing unusual, i rev it up try to pay attention to the change in sound but i was disappointed...and i thought.. damn, how do you expect to hear anything from the new filter while the intake box tightly sealed up? :stupid:

first drove out to my area, throttle felt much responsive which gives you the feel of readiness of the urge to take off...overall, cant say much since i havent taken it to the open road.

of all the money i spent on modding, i think this Performance intake might cost a little on the high side  for the amount of gain in return, i would say.

nevertheless, i like how it looks when i opened up my stock engine compartment..

here's how it looks...kekekee...

Hehehe... don't mean to poke you or E46F but I think the carbon fibre looks better with the black engine cover that I have on my E92. Yet again, you guys have 28 bhp more, so who has the final laugh.. not me.

How come spaceman and e46F have metalic color engine cover? u guys on 325 sport right?

mine has a black engine cover..... i guess same with JP's e92....

ours are the first few batches of N52 engine, so are silvers. during our time of production, M-sport were not created yet, we added the kit later...

Yeah... the 07 E90s onwards have got black covers. I recall E46F saying it was a cost cutting measure. I think he was just jealous, hahahaha!

the silver top has the magnesium alloy valve cover and the black top has the plastic valve cover...so which one more expensive u decide...

Does the sliver top really have mag alloy cover. It feels like plastic to me too.

For NA cars, an intake typically does not result in much of a gain. Even if it does, you will be hard pressed to feel it. I do agree it is a little pricey...may i ask how much you paid for it?

Ya the new LCI E90 doesn't even have the sound insulation material underneath the front hood, and the heat exchanger in the engine bay is now exposed (revealing a shiny square thingamagik at the front area of the engine) instead of covered up in black plastic. BMW seems to be cutting costs here and there. At least its in the non essential stuffs but its still kinda sad to see.

Umm... the absence of sound insulation material would result in less refinement, no?
So, for the E9x folks, what's the next mod?

Thought there was a group buy going for the exhaust?

For those interested the BMW Performance Exhaust for the E90 (plus installation clamps) it cost RM4600 incl installation from Stuttgart. A very good price, but the part no is listed for 330i. Still not sure if its good and compatible for the 325i and 323i.
