Transmission Mode

As the title suggest, i ve been looking around for thread about the transmission mode.If there's already such discussion, plz point me to the right direction.I notice when i push my gear to the left, it will go into DS (or is it SD?) mode, i believe it s sport mode. when i push the gear know up or down, it will change to M5,M4 etc..So what DS mode does? n in what situation it is designed for..Thank you:top:

tq..actually i looked into that thread already..that triggers me to post this thread nway
that thread discusses on whether or not to switch mode on high speed.. my question mainly on what those mode do as i m clueless..

When you shift to the left, you have select to "sport mode". The display will change from "D" to "DS".

DS means the revolution of the tacho is slightly higher than normal for aggressive driving.

When you pull the gearshift toward you, the gear would shift to higher and you push the gear shift, the gear would shift to lower. (similar to manual mode except you dont have to press the clutch).

However, if you forget to shift the gear down and you happen to slow down, like coming to a standstill, the gear would also shift down for you to M2.

To go back to normal, just shift the stick back to back to right side.

BTW, read the owner manual.. It might help to understand the car better.

I used to play with the stick during the first month of owning the car. Now too lazy cos the power is also available when you kick down the pedal. LOL

I went through the manual but i didnt seem to find any about the transmission mode. Maybe i ve missed it.
Hm..so it means that DS is basically juz like Auto mode, but for more aggresive driving? So it would give no harm for the car if i drive in DS mode rite.

I went through the manual but i didnt seem to find any about the transmission mode. Maybe i ve missed it.

No harm to the car nor the gearbox except the fuel consumption will be higher..
