m43b19 gearbox issue

hi guys,Need urgent advise..today morning while goin work everything seems ok for the gearbox...thn afternoon luck ran out...my gearbox seems to b in limp mode...it stuck at 3rd gear...cant change up or down...i tried use manual but it shows im in M1....But in dash there is no warning of transmission error...or any other error appear..tht why i was puzzle..After limp back home...let the car rest a while start back..it able to engage 1st gear...like normal...What is goin on.....?.I wana get advise here before i let my mech check
