Hey guys! saw in the papers today Eneos Car centre in 1 Utama is advertising 15% off on Yokohama C-Drive tires. I might just check it out!!! :yahoo:
15% off doesn't mean it'll be cheaper.... most price tags there are higher than the ah kau workshops...

Sifus,

Tyre shop along Chambell Sup PJ quoted me 205/55/16 for Preceda Rmn450 per tyre. Is it OK or Almost Kena Chop ?

I just changed my rear to Hankook Ventus K104. So far so good. 235/45/17 less than RM500 per piece. Good value for money, as Albundy will also testify. Will monitor the wear rate.

OSF,

How much will 18" be? I am getting RM610 for Falken Azensis (265/35/18) which I think it good value. The only thing I am worry about is load capacity. Some forummer (Kevster I think) mentioned that there are some Falken user complained about tyre kong due to heavy load. Any idea guys? On the other hand, noticed that Falken Azensis load index it the same as the Dunlop SP9000 that I am using now. Shouldn't be an problem right?

Hope not like fishing line rating where japanese line poundage is always over rated!! OSF, you should know since you are an angler (based on your signature that is).

Anyway, will be getting the Falken very likely and use the saving to repair the rims.

P/S If you a kaki pancing, then this is for you

cilaka. bought my Dragons for RM550.. grrrr..
where did i buy? Lim Tayar Setapak. Never going there again.
Careful there are lots of second grade tyre in the market get them from the reputable and authorised tyre dealer. Don't want to suffer the effects from this water fishes.

mine was quite new (4104 - Q3 2004 manufactured).

Just barely completed running-in the tires. It is true, alot of tires out there could be bad but the huge price discrepancy gives me a big heartache.

As for the tires not round, surface uneven or whatsoever, get a second opinion. I have had unpleasant dealings with MPS auto on this issue, of course generally most forummers are happy with him.

Rgds
Hmmm... care to share?

Is it possible that tyre uneven is a common thing? You know things that we just can't avoid. Just like dented rims, scratched skirting, chipped paint work, speeding summons (he he he)....... Not nice to have but wont hurt you if you did.

Been speeding all the way to Alor Star on full load, and got both my rear Goodyear F1 215/45/17 fried!!!!( One burst, and the other damaged sidewall.) Call our SIFU Mr.Albundy, was told that my tires were under size.
Couldn't find the Michelin preceda sifu recomended. The only one found in Sg.Petani was a pair of 225/45/17 NANKANG!!!!!!!!! WTF....
Never heard of that name???????
Choice was not given. So replaced with the tires available for Rm 315/a piece.
Walla. It rides good. No road noise. Performs well in the wet. Grips well too.
Can anyone tell me where on earth NANKANG came from????

Nankangs aplenty and still nobody has heard of Pirelli P7? Surely this cannot be. :dunno: Did you know you could get the Pirelli P7 in 225/50/17? Yup it comes in 50 series for 17 inch. But what sets it apart from the Dragon? :dunno:
