T2ribena,I'd like to know why my thread was deleted. How do you define commercial posting? Isn't the act of selling anything commercial in nature? I'm selling a service and I started the thread under the classifieds sections. Some members here constantly sells cars every other month, and TTH tyre for example talks about his tyre shop and what they offer. Why is there preferential treatment? This high-handed nonsense should end.:thefinger:please refer to the title on the classifieds section below:Classifieds (24 Viewing) Got something to sell? Where else but the classifieds. Please beware and be cautious when trading. BMWClub Malaysia will not be held responsible for any possible mishaps that might occur during transactions.dont have to be gila kuasa, find something better to do with your time.

Under The Classified Rules, BettyBoop stated these rules. Refer to highlighted:

Of the late there have been a great influx of commercial advertisements and forumers (old and new) have been trying to post for sale many items. The Forum Administrator, the Committee, and the Moderators have been concerned at the integrity and credentials of some of these sellers, leading to a paternalistic approach taken to try and protect from harm our BMW Club lace forumers.

However, the community is growing by leaps and bounds, which is wonderful for everyone here because it means more friends, more leads to knowledge and parts for the fraternity. It also means that it is becoming harder and harder to extend the same amount of care to the forumers. The Forum Administrator, the Committee and the Moderators now believe that forumers are able to practise effectively the principles of Caveat Emptor, i.e. “Buyers Beware.”

Hence, the Forum Administrator, the Committee and the Moderators have deliberated and have decided to open up the use of the Classifieds for postings for cars and other items, as long as it is legal to sell the Item, is BMW or car-related and is not otherwise an abuse of the other forum rules.

The Forum Administrator, the Committee and the Moderators will still continue to monitor the postings and review the rules from time to time.

As always, the BMW Club and the Forum, in no event, will not be liable for any financial loss or any special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the usage of the Classifieds section of this forum. Please exercise caution when trading in the Classifieds.

My service is related to road safety and related to cars. Legal service. Some members advertise photography services etc. Please use some sense before simply deleting a thread. I want an explanation and pls talk sense when replying.

Thank you for your reply. Please highlight for me which rules I have broken.

stick to the point. state your arguments. all other comments are unnecessary...

Actually very simple to solve the problem..........

Either u not allowed members to post here or just open to all at classified section .....

I think some members confused with the forum R&R for the classified section which is What/Which classified thread will be deleted by committee??? If the threads were deleted, what is the reasons??? If commercial posting is the main reason, what /how the committee clarify the threads are commercial???? Issit just apply to those who own a shop???How about those used parts runner ???They also selling parts to make money ??????

So i hope the committee can come out with a VERY clear guideline What is allowed and What is disallowed at classified section .......As the last statement from the committee about the classified section as below ....

For those selling their items in the classified section, PLEASE STATE YOUR SELLING PRICE. This is compulsory and failure to do so will see your thread removed.

Newbies are required to have a minimum of 10 postings before being allowed to post in this section. You are highly encouraged to introduce yourself in the newbie section.

Last but not least, use this section responsibly.

Cheers,
Albundy
President

From the above statement, all members here always tot who with min 10 posting are allowed to use the classified section and the PRICE must be stated ........That make members confused when their thread was deleted even met the forum requirement......

So my 2 cents is he committee hv to come out a better guideline to solve the problem forever .....

TQ

dont have to be gila kuasa, find something better to do with your time.

1. how do you define commercial posting?

any posting in this forum that covers and not limited to buying and selling of a commercial nature. "commercial" refers to any sale of goods and services where there is transactions leading to profit to one party and use of goods and services by the other party, in short, of a business nature. key word .."business"

2. isn't the act of selling anything commercial in nature?

no, if i have a part for sale. just one part and i cannot use it, i can offer to sell in the forum. if i have many parts for sale and it is for business purposes i put it up in the forum, then this is for commercial purposes and this is not allowed in the forum unless approved by the club. there are other avenues to advertise your services which may or may not require you to pay, please refer to the other avenues...and pay.

3. is selling service the same as selling a physical product and is commercial in nature?

please refer to the Sale of Goods and Services Act where both are commercial in nature, unless your services or goods are for free, then it is not commercial in nature. example, going to a spa for services is commercial in nature. still pay, right? its a business, right?

4. other members constantly selling cars every month?

who? please be specific and the committee will act accordingly. as they say, two wrongs don't make one right. your post is still a commercial post. maybe you should sell cars too, then the forum may 'overlook' this as you say.

5. isn't TTH's post commercial in nature?

TTH has a close relationship with the club and its members built over the years. Noticed why there are no other tyre shops advertising? Something to ponder...

(can someone share more details re TTH ..thanks)

6. Why is there preferential threatment?

What preferential threatment? Before asking that, do you also need special threatment to sell your services in this forum?

Bottom line is this, if the club/forum lets "A" advertise for services, then anyone from "A" to "Z" can also advertise for their services too....for free! and this is something we don't want...period. Also, if the club lets "A" advertise...then how about other competitor. Not wanting to give preferential threatment as you say, so all also not allowed except for certain exceptions. Read below...

I am surprised you didn't mention the Castrol ad because Castrol gave us RM80K worth of engine lub to the members.

Yes, there are other advertisers but there advertisers sponsor the clubs activities either in monetary terms or gifts for the annual dinners we have every year and they acvtually bothered to talk to the club's committee before posting anything of a commercial nature.

Furthermore, as a "forumer" you are a guest in this house, so it is not your place to tell the host what to do and what not to do. You may suggest but that is as far as it goes. Insulting the host is a definate no-no...in any situation.

All said and done, the forum is indeed a good avenue to propose your products and services but you will have to get approval first from the club committee and also what will be your contribution to the club and its members should the committee ok your proposal. Nothing is free and the club is not for sale.

Hope the above clarifies.

XXX.............no need to be official memberlah .............

so long got "close relationship " will do .........then can sell underwear keh upperwear keh outsidewear keh also can ...............

Dear all, we understand the confusion. Even me, myself and I am sometimes bewildered. However , we have been deliberating and a solution is in the pipeline to clear the confusion. It is in the midst of implementation pending collaboration from the website admin in setting up some changes to the forum. It is just a matter of time. In the meantime, postings that are business in nature will be moderated. Business means having profit and in a continous nature. Not only this forum but other forums practise the same thing ,ie: NO Freeloaders.
Basically , Members or forummers can sell used or old personal items & on ad-hoc basis like NEW items wrongly bought, so selling at same price bought or cheaper, selling personal second hand items(garage sale) or items not used. Buying /procuring items specifically for reselling them constitutes a business for profit nature. Hence not allowed. Even mudah.my are implementing something for companies regularly selling on their site.
It's like this, if I put my car up for sale at a second hand dealer yard, would you think the dealer would allow me to just drive in without their consent, park the car there in their compound and put up a "FOR SALE" sign with my number on the car and then leave it there. Sure they wont but they will for a fee isnt it? and that also is if the car meets their liking.

But do not despair my fellow forummers, a solution is in the pipeline to help you in your business. Everything has a solution. But for fellow Official members we are a bit more tolerant. I dare say that , because hey they are OFFICIAL MEMBERS, some of the perks that we accord to them on ad hoc basis. :)

In the meantime, for items that got moderated, please do not despair, janganlah marah ye.. there is www.mudah.my . You can post there in the meantime. The world is a big place . It is not confined to the "Classifieds" here. If you think that the audience here is much more valuable and beneficial for your business, then please DO wait for the solution to come. I applaud your kind understanding.

Thank you for your kind understanding and patience. Cheers !

P/S : before TTH issue came up in this thread, it has been discussed and our V-P has dealt with it. It was overlooked before but not anymore. Thank you.

actually, i'm not really sure about this one but that's as far as i know which is why i asked for other members to clarify and share and no, i do not own TTH and neither do i buy tyres from them

Then in my opinion, one of the "forummer" solution is to sign up as an official member and start mingle around with the people here in club in order for them to get to know you better and be in business transactions with you.
