STruttgard?

why do you guys even bother going there... your money is better off given to help feed some dogs at the shelter or even given to the baggers on the road for that matter as oppose to paying for the kind of service they are offering.

that idiot manager of their's AH jwan or something seems like he has a bloody foot stuck up his anal orifice (or maybe its a N x number of dissatisfied customers foot) for an attitude.

case in point... that idiot sold me an engine block that does not have a valid AP or should i say its probably from one of his reaped off customer's car. so i ask for a change for another with a valid AP, was told its gonna be another 1000 from the 800 i'd already paid him.... demanded a refund but was told to bugger off... anyhow, its lucky i paid my purchase with my credit card, with a quick call to the card centre and the charges were reversed due to the dispute. struttgard was even given a warning by their legal department.

ANyway, i take it as a blessing in disguise as i got another block WIth valid papers for only 200 at another place with 5 star service.

another case in point, my cousin's e60 was sent there for a standard oil service and was given two oily hand marks on his A pillar as a souvenir. ask them to clean it up but was told they were already there from the beginning.... RIGHT! thats the last $700 they will ever see from my cousin or any of our friends for that matter...

HANG struttgard, you get better service and better pricing else where.

wow..scary man!!

A previous mechanic of mine told me of a problem his client had with a gearbox. Client bought a gearbox for a lot of money, it looked brand new and clean. Took it to the mechanic for installation but once installed the car felt as if there was a huge power loss and noisy. Put the old gearbox in, power was back.

They both went over there and kicked up a fuss. Demanded to see inside the gearbox. After a lot of shouting and yelling the gearbox was opened and it was full of sludge clinging to all the parts. All they did was to sandblast the external housing to make it look brand new which of course they denied.

So therefore the gearbox must have sandblasted itself is what they were effectively saying.. :stupid:

moral of the story.....

dont patronized/buy from a shop that also does servicing and chop parts imports. a good example being this one.

My advise is for any troubleshooting of symptoms etc, send it back to AB/SA instead of 3rd party mechanics. Only if you know exactly what you want done and what parts you want, then you can go to 3rd party and inspect the new part and watch them work on your car to get it replaced.

I've found that mechanics who run 3rd party shops not as trustworthy as authorized BMW centers. A few cases, had been due to wrong diagnosis, with hefty quotes, only to be given 2nd opinions from BMW dealer that it was something else which was much cheaper to replace.

As far as the wrong diagnosis given, whether its due to incompetency or greed, I cant 100% prove it, but its always been heftier replacement quotes than simple fixes.... So,.. can make your own judgements from there.

just my 0.02.

I truly agree with E46F.

At least we have a peace of mind when we send it back to AB or SA for any repair. If they are not doing a good job, we can always complain till it is done properly. I feel more confident in them.

But if it's 3rd party workshops or those so-called BMW specialists..... hmmmm..... I won't comment much but I can tell you that it is so much hassle to keep going back to them and yet problems are not solved, or maybe ended up paying more or getting other parts/areas into problem.

Dear All

It my habit for me to get part on my own and only pay labaur chgs only.

I normally get all my Part frm Bomin Auto. The manager there my friend ,his price to me, ok to me 1 . He also sell OEM part

As for workshop , i hv to options

1)Yau Enterprise in Jln Kuching . 1 note of advice for this workshop The boss , u need to tolate his Temperment and character. At time u pay money also kena fuck1 :thefinger: . But this is my fav workshop as AH Yau very very experience. The best thing about YAu is operate after office hour . Mon - Fri - 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm . Sat - Sun - 9 - 5 pm

2) Sim Lim Workshop - Jlan Ipoh . Next door to Bomin Auto. If i cant wait for AH Yau . I go here . Workman ship ok , but tech knowhow , u judge yr self, They are friendly and good CS . Operation hour . 9 - 6pm Mon - Sat

U can reference me , Just tell them 909 ask to come 1

By the way my ride is a e 39 and e 38
