Static in the car....

Hi guys,Been experiencing strong static in the e39 since purchase in 2009. Usually after driving or even seating in, when we touch the door panel or the body it will have a small spark, quite a pinch at times. Wondering what causes this and if it could be fix ? Thanks all. Its a 1996, 528i by Auto Bavaria...Regards

this shouldn't happen esp with leather seats.....fabric seats i can understand...
better send to mech to check...could be old ground cable not gounding enough....

dont take this matter lightly....get it checked out at once.....sparks can be life threatening especially at gas stations although they (gas stations) may already have taken precautions should static occur while filling up.

Please anyone at all, if anybody had such encounter and manage to rectify it, please share. I had send to various workshop to check but nobody could rectify it. I will keep trying and meanwhile, any tip is much appreciated. Thanks.
