It more than just that ... you have to see her on the track ... not a GT3 but fast.

I thought I saw a large intercooler in front of the Preve - could be a 2.0 turbo. It was moving as fast as the STi hatchback

The day before when I was there, one of the techies told me that its a CPS engine. I did not take a proper look. Hmmmmmmm ...

Let's pray together. For whatever reasons..

They should just let the system run from 9am to 5pm. Running 24/7 will get half of Malaysian drivers suspended within 6 months.

Roads will be clear but no more drivers. Cars not moving, fuel cannot be sold. No toll money, road tax cannot renew. Govt got another headache, loss of revenue. Then, scrap the AES...... :d :d

according to the papers today, the AES is meant to be put in service mid Aug, just in time for the usual Ops Sikap.
High res cameras, with high speed shutters...hmm...please make sure you dress and behave decently with your front seat passenger if you want to speed, hehe...otherwise, those pics could be mighty exciting.

or you may end up facing our brothers in blue like this .....

both still images and videos will be recorded. :-D

Just wondering, are the latest radar detectors able to pick up on this fancy technology we are pitted against? I'd buy one online immediately even if it helps me elude tickets half the time..

JPJ just released a FAQ on the AES

Main points:

- 18 months until full implementation
- 565 speeding cameras and 265 red-light cameras
- JPJ main department handling this, police seem to act as advisors only
- The static cameras look like the traffic cameras implemented recently so can be spotted. The mobile ones can be mounted in cars
- expects backlash from the public but hopes Gov will help to 'convince' rakyat that the moneymaking scheme is good for them

I think too many cameras have been allocated for speeding which I don't believe is the main cause of accidents on the highways. Most of the time, the mishaps I see on the roads involve sleepy lorry drivers.

I still go along what the club Prez is saying.....that how does all this systems be able to change the mindset of drivers?

How many times do you see a motorbike without rear lights or not observing the red light? A motoring society driven by fear of getting caught - will it last? Any opportunity to break the law will be attempted.

Parents carrying their child on their lap while driving for example, does it not inculcating bad drivers in the future? I have seen parents throwing out rubbish from their cars in the view of their offsprings and it is very hard to explain to my children why it happened.

All those gadgets and systems (IMHO) are only supplementary to the most important thing the authorities should also look into - educating the citizens towards a first class mentality culture. A tall order for a country like this...but have to start somewhere and quick.

With the implementation of the above system, there goes the joy of driving fast responsibly.........

:listen: ... dont waste your money on these latest gizmo bro as it will not be able to detect the speed camera. I hv two of those posted in mudah and can let you hv one to try it yourself if you like :4: ....

I think the German fixed system uses strips embedded in on the road to measure speed. We need Knight Rider boost technology to jump over it :D

The mobile system will still be using lasers but the detector only helps you if the sniper is shooting other cars while you are within the detection range. If they point straight at you, sudah kena already.

Impossible for the system to use strips embedded in the road, that isn't accurate enough to tell which car on which lane is speeding. And even if they did use that system, you can tell where are all the speed traps when you see them block off several lanes of the highway to dig it up to lay down sensors and cables. The most accurate and cost effective method is still lasers which is what Singapore's speed cameras are using.

Come to think of it ... Now that the systems are automated, that means we can use those laser jammers and buy us some time. The automated software will obviously think its a misreading and will retry one or two more times before it reports your car as potentially carrying a jammer, if it can, but that would be more than enough time for you to jam your brakes and flip your jammer off. Compared to the penguin who would report you without question if one of his readings gets wonky.

Bro, you think you can lend me to try this Raya? :4: It seems that I have to take a bus up during then. Good time to demo the detector.

Aiyaa... they are going warn road users of the fixed location bro.

I have no objections on fixed cameras, but they should clearly notify theres a speed camera at least 500m before and make the cameras obviously visible (with fluorescents stripes) like in the UK.this will educate instead 'trapping' drivers.

500m is not enough.. at 200kph, we need 1km to slow down to legal speed limit without jamming the brakes.. :42:
