I ply that route regularly before but due to so many summons cannot tahan and shifted my route to LDP.

Anyways, this is most likely just before the USJ exit which the cops will be either; 1. in the median, 2. at the side or 3. at the overhead building above. For position 3 the give away is when one of the windows in the flyover is open.

That is a very popular location for speedtrap, the MUFORS overhead bridge. They are they almost daily from 9am to 11am or from 4pm to 5.30pm. They are there even on Sundays from 8.00am onwards. So the best thing is to slow down or use another car as a shield (don't cucuk because the guy in front is going to jam the brakes if he sees the sniper)

Like azmany72 mentioned, the high overhead shot was taken using the window by a cop, sometimes even with the windows closed!

Actually out the 8, 4 summonses were in Subang Jaya and most likely around/at same location along the 90km zone. The other 2 entries in MYEG/PDRM did not have photos attached.

For those who uses SILK (Kajang-Putrajaya) pls slow down to 80km when traveling under the flyover to Kajang Toll. I got three summonses at the same location in Feb, Jun and Jul this year. Didn't realise it until recently.

If you notice the police had avoided using the term 'trap'. The roadsign in the middle of highway has been recaptioned 'Awas OPERASI had laju' instead of 'Awas PERANGKAP had laju'. If you look carefully you can see the old caption been painted/stickered over.

Yes bro, they are changing it but there are still some with the original wording ... :frown:

Is it written Kajang (Hulu Langat) district? me got 4 summons at the same location dunno where the place is....Never been to Hulu Langat my whole life so I suspect the Kajang Silk is the culprit.....tried to retrieve the photo but unavailable....

Haywire and mr. prez,

any particular reason why they don't want to use 'trap' term?

"trap" ... the term itself can be ill intent as it can be doubtful that the authorities when conducting the "operation" had acted in good faith. When that is established, I guess, it can lead to entrapment and that by itself is not right.

However, different countries have different interpretation to "entrapment", especially in the French Justice System, where the interpretation is very wide :4: ...

I do stand corrected though ...:4:

generally, entrapment is when enforcers create a situation where we will be enticed to commit a crime which we normally would not. doesn't sound like our need for speed eh..?

Agreed :4: ...

What say one when the authorities build top notch highway system and allow user to own exotic high performance car with any restriction whatsoever or even produce a local made car that can easily zoom past 140kmh in a blink of an eye ... :4: ...

... or let me put it this way ... one is on a 3 or 2 lane highway (with the speed limit at 110kmh), downhill stretch over a sunrise, driving an M3, one would definitly be enticed to exceed the limit ... suddenly under the overhead bridge, a traffic cop with is wide silly grin had dust caught you with his speed camera ... :4: ....

I beg to differ Mr Prez. What top notch hiway? My DSC blinks when hit 'bumps' on certain stretches of our hiways - mainly happens on Juru/Bandar Baru stretch. Summore no flood lights. We're reliant on our headlights 90% of the time. Too many stories of cars of ending up in parked trailers, often with fatalities bcoz of inadquate lighting.

Sorry - out of topic. Geram bcoz on top of higher risk, kena saman summore...

In their design stages, most of our highways were engineered to accommodate passenger-car speeds of 160kmh safely. But we all know how quickly the roads deteriorate, mainly due to minimum-depth construction.

No need for the apology bro :4: ... everyone is entitled to their own opinion :top: .... and yes I do agree some stretch of our highway has deteriorate (like bro mizhan had mentioned) but generally we have one of the best highways (network) in this region .... drive within the set speed limits and you will lower your risk and no more summons :4: ....

Balik Raya, i'll be lucky if i can hit 90s in highway.

Saw the camera tengah pasang at Putrajaya main road near flyover heading to big roundabout and the sign is about 500 m before the camera. The road from precinct 11 toward highway.

...hence my belief that the authorities are not doing enough to create such awareness. They are more into "trapping" the public than "educating" them.

If we stop and think about this issue, how much more awareness needs to be created? Isn't everyone clearly aware of the speed limit on highways? In terms of educating the public, I'd say that many of the BMW owners here are educated people.

Yet we see so many people talk about trying to beat the system, hoping the system gets abolished, publishing locations of the cameras, etc. So it boils down to the mentality of the drivers. Please don't use lack of awareness or lack of education to excuse speeding on the highway.

People in Malaysia break the speed limit because they think they can get away with it or bribe their way out of it. The lack of enforcement created this situation. So the solution is to improve enforcement so that people start to fear and respect the law.

Thanks for the open opinion bro JBJB. Nevertheless, creating awareness should never be a timeline thingy. Simple fact that you have additional of "new" young and old drivers on the road everyday. Yes I agree with you that there are some people, not only in this forum but the General Pulic for that matter will always try to find ways to beat the system. I am never for that. I exceed the speed not with the intent to get away with it and if I do get caught, I pay my fines, period...

The implementation of the AES is with the prime objective of reducing speeding and fatalities on the road. Do you serioisly think that this will work. Time and again we see that with each every festive seasons, fatalities increased and statistics shows that more than 68% is due to fatique and not because of speeding per se.

This will be a long and never ending debate but honestly my personal opinion is, its better to prevent than to cure and trapping motorist speeding on our highways is definitly not the way to reduce fatal incident/accident.

Just my two sens ... :frown:..
