However my point is not abt speeding and fines per say. I hv no issue on that. What I am stressing is on the need of creating awareness and that we should never stop nor waiver from that effort.
I am not against the government or any efforts by them to address public issues but merely voicing the fact that such move to install camera's (which they have done before and proved to be a waste of public funds) without addressing the root cause of its failure, is just not the right call.
Frankly I am not missing any points here and yes they are taking steps to ensure proper evidence are in place to charge you in court (Mind you that PDRM cannot issue summons but can only serve you Notice of Summons, which is compoundable) BUT isnt that going back to square one???. The issue goes back and forth back and forth like a broken record albeit a longer play record, if you get my drift :4:...
Aahhh yes, and there is this S'porean and S'pore thingy. Yes its a "Fine" city they say with good civic-minded people there. You will be fined even for spitting (in public area) be it if there are public there or not :4: .... So what do they do, they come to M'sia and do their spitting here :4:. and when we are on the subject of speeding ... for the records, they are millions (Ringgit) of uncollected speeding tickets from the foreigners as at Jun 2012!

So, where is the flaw here? The equipment, the operations, the process or what not? Its the implementation and the follow thru action (ENFORCEMENT) that is much to be desired.

Totally agree its ENFORCEMENT that is required.

Example: I drive without breaking laws on the highways (except the speeding) ie. no overtaking on the left, giving way to faster cars, not forcing slower cars off the fast lane, etc. I just speed when there is no obstacle in fron of me.

Now should I be penalised or the Protons and Hondas etc that weave in and out of traffic, overtaking on the left lanes and also on the emergency lanes, 'cucuking' cars in the fast lane with mere centimeters between them but most of the time below the speed limit.

Just does not seem fair as we do not seem to advocate safe driving, just focusing on speeding.

I'm sorry, bro. Although I agree on catching those cucuk-ing too close from behind, this is one law that doesn't make sense.

If a person can be overtaken (safely) on the left lane, then that person should be fined for "lane hogging". If you keep hanging around in the middle lane or fast lane, your car becomes the starting point for a traffic congestion. This is one behavior that is very annoying to me because any car staying in the middle lane effectively slows down everyone around him.

Take for example a Toyota staying in the middle lane at 70 (as all Toyota drivers do). I'm coming up behind at 90 and there is a 540i coming in the fast lane behind at 110. I am stuck with two choices, try to merge into the right lane, but that would take time to speed up my car, so the 540i behind me has to slow down to 90 and wait for me to gain speed before he can regain his speed. And so does everyone in the fast lane behind the 540i and this takes time. The other option is I dive into the left lane and overtake without affecting traffic ... Or risk hitting whatever slower car or lorry may be on that lane.
So you see ... This one Toyota staying in the middle lane has caused 10 cars to slow down and effectively start a small congestion on the right lane and has the potential to cause accidents.
This is why there are so many collisions on the right lane along Federal Highway. Everyone is crushed into the right lane to try and overtake because those selfish drivers refuse to go onto the left lane when there is space.
It is so bad sometimes that I regularly go onto the left and overtake 10-12 cars in one shot rather than risk joining the train of cars on the right. All it needs is one emergency braking and everyone needs new bumpers tomorrow.

Should tell you how once I got major cucuk by a Cayenne Turbo on the fast lane. Thought: "Okay, you asked for it". Floored it up to 200 with him keeping up ... just. Till finally we were blocked by two cars on middle and right lane. I dived all the way to the left overtook them and continued on without so much as my hair getting a bit messed and the poor Cayenne had to slow down and was stuck behind them in the fast lane.

Fella kept flashing and blowing his horn the moment he appeared in my rear view mirror. And despite me signaling I was going to go to the left lane, he kept at it impatiently. Had to put him in his place. Hehehehe
