Bro iz,
Congrats on the new ride ! :top:

With regards to non RFTs, they should improve the driving experience. RFTs are quite a fair bit heavier. (Note that the suspension on E90s is somewhat softer to accomodate that fact)

However, since your car comes with the M sports suspension (which i'm told is stiffer than stock), the 19s w/o RFTs should be a good bet (Rocketman and Sebbie have done that already).

If you are a daily driver, and you are always carting people about, then a stiffer suspension - say bilstein, koni, eibach etc. may not be necessary. But a slight drop - changing your springs would give your ride a pretty nice stance :)

Im certain the E90 "sifus" here will be able to poison your mind. Oooops, i mean, help clarify the situation, and help you spend your hard earned mullah ! :top:

Cheers !

If I change the spring ( eibach prokit) and changing the tyres to 265 rear and maybe 235 front, will i have to deal with rubbing issues because sometimes i'm ferrying 4 adult in the car. I hate it when going over the speed bump and it scrape the bottom.

By the way , i'm amateur when it comes to offset
any reply is much appreciated

izuaff, there's no end to car mod and whatever other say is just half of the story, best test it out yourself.. ;D

I would! ;)

The RFT is really damn hard. Over bumps, it feels like the whole wheel assembly is shaking loose.. very scary! The bushes may have scream hurt!

A bit of advice from those who've already experienced it does help. In fact, i think it goes a long way before you invest in upgrades.

On another note, Contrary to what astro suggests (my car has over a hundred thousand Kms on RFTs, and is still OK) they arent as bad as made out to be, unless you're flying over bumps, instead of slowing down aye.... Astro, brakes are meant to be used :)

In my opinion, switch to non-RFT will make you love your ride more. Go for good tyres like Michelin PS2 and you will have no regret. Your ride will be much more better with non-RFT even with lowered springs with bigger wheels as compare to stock springs with smaller wheels. I'm speaking from experience that I'm having on my ride and from others too.

I have the 325i sports so I can only speak about my experience with M-tech suspension on RFT. I heard many people complaining about the bumpy ride for the 325i sports and many changed the RFT to normal tires.

Personally, I am OK with the current ride quality. I don't think it is as bad as people claimed to be but this is personal preference. In addition, people seldom mention about the advantages of RFT: improved safety (due to the min 3x rigid sidewall) and less prone to pothole damages. My problem with RFT is more with the price as it is still far more expensive than Michelin PS2 or Pirelli Zero Rosso.

:D I wish to recall my earlier statement.. :D

I just had an alignment check at AB SB this morning for complaining on wobbly steering and alignment veer to the left.. :D

After the 4 hours job.. I wish to confirm my E90 ride now is straight, quiet, soft, sweet and nice.. :top:

The feeling is like I was on 32psi when I took delivery of the E90 few days back and now I'm on 23psi!!

RFT is that bad after all, over humps also is acceptable. What hard? u r only on 23psi lar!!

But one cannot deny that RFT is a lot heavier than conventional tubeless tyre. So if u convert to non-RFT.. u can quite easily smoke your other brothers and sisters here..

If comfort is not an issue for you, then the next thing you need to consider is the price of RFT which is RM 1,600 to RM 2,000 for a piece of 17" RFT. A nice 18" Michelin PS2 will only cost you RM 1,000 per piece. And I can guarantee you that Michelin PS2 comfort level will definitely much more better than any RFT. Lower cost with better comfort. You do the calculation yourself :)

I think you've guys convinced me to switch to non-RFT. Just now hantam lubang on MRR2 and feels like the whole front about to drop off. So, I'm gonna go with 19wrapped with Michelin PS2..

Budget RM8000-10000 including 19" rims. ANYBODY want to recommend anyone in the tyre business??
TQ

Not enough if you are going for original rims. Rims itself will cost you around that price. Plus the tyres, it will comes to around RM 12,000 to RM 14,000! Shouldn't be any problem for you :)

Replicas lah bro, where got so much money to buang like that.

Yes, with that price, you can get real good replicas. Try out Speedline at Sunway Damansara. Look for the boss Hoong. His number is 012 6973662. They sell original and replicas rims and good tyres too. Good workmanship. Or you may wanna try Hup Shun in Sunway. But their price is not so attractive as compare to Speedline but they have a lot of choices of rims there.
