Hi guys, I wonder if any of you have tried the servicing of Sapura Auto? How's the workmanship and the pricing as opposed to Auto Bavaria? Reason for me to ask this is just to get another option instead of just sending to BMW specialists.I understand that AB has the headlight adjusting equipment, would Sapura Auto have it too? Thought of adjusting to headlight to the optimum level once I install the HID system.Appreciate some feedbacks. Thanks, cheers and happy holiday :)

AB only takes in AB sold BMW. What about Sapura ?

Bro Russie, can share more about headlight adjusting equipment. Didn't know got such thing. I want to have my headlights adjusted as well.

Clint, my car was bought new from AB by the previous owner. She sent the car to AB for servicing too. Will AB still take in my car now since I have not been sending there for servicing.

Well, the headlight adjuster equipment is a device to gauge the headlight beam direction. I also read it somewhere in the forum. You can try to search for "Headlight adjusting". Similarly I believe Puspakom is also having such machine as part of their services for cars sent in for inspection. Anyone knows this?

Perhaps we can send in our car for headlight adjusting :) look out for more posting and comments from others.

Cheers

thanks bro.

as long as your car is by AB, they will take in eventhough it has been serviced elsewhere for many years. just tell them to update their database with your details.

i did search on headlight adjustment but could not find much. i will search again. if anyone knows a link, please let us know. thanks.

Puspakom has the headlight test and i just did mine in November. its says LULUS but i still feel its slightly high. cars infront of me thinks i am on high beam.

Sometimes maybe Puspakom's test is not up to our standard. If too high, it would bright up the road, only brighting up the car in front of u. So best way would be, adjust it on a big wall...can do a search on internet. But I am not too sure how to adjust it, hopefully some sifu in re-adjusting method can guide us?

thanks

You can send your car into Sapura Auto for service eventhough the car was brought from AB or any other dealer. I find their workmanship is good and the price is ok too. I dun think so they have the headlight adjusting equipment. Suggest that you go to AB to do the headlight adjustment. If you want, you can drop by and look for Moorthy. He is a helpful guy. Just tell him you need to do headlight adjustment with the machine and I believe he will help. I did mine too with his help.

He is based in AB Glenmarie and his number is 019 377 3730.

Got it. Thanks David. I will see how it goes after installing the HID. If the installer doesn't adjust the light for me then maybe I will pay Moorthy a visit to get it aligned properly up to factory specification.

But the thing is, do I have to make appointment with AB Glenmarie prior to the visit? Afraid they might have full schedule. I will give AB Glennarie a call too and speak to Moorthy :)

Cheers

Russie, was told HID beam projects very differently from normal halogen bulb and u need to projector lens to focus the HID beam. Without it, no matter how u adjust ur HID beam throw, u r still a nuisance to other road user.

Your headlight has projector lens?

Thank you for informing this Astroboy. Yup, my headlights have projector lens. Not OEM headlight though, they are a set of DEPO (made in Taiwan). Therefore, I am not sure if the HID beam would be fine or compatible with the lens.

Any comments?

It's better that u give him a call before u go over.

Oh dear, I think I will have to delay the visit to Moorthy. Installed HID 6000k today but the headlamp fuse got blown I think. No light coming out from my headlamps  I only found out this while driving back home, tried to switch on but saw no light on the front car bumper... When I reached home, did the same and nothing came out. It was ok then back in the shop earlier. Called the shop and informed him, so have to send back to check tomorrow after the Meguair's event.

By the way, I tried opening up the fuse box in the engine compartment to see which fuse is blown, but I got confused :smokin: E36 fuse diagram so difficult to read and understand? Hmmm... will post in another thread on 1 of the fuses, hopefully someone can help me.

Thanks

Calling David Yong,

David, I just called up AB Glenmarie today. One of the guys, Suresh told me they dont have the headlight adjusting machine  how come ah? He told me to make appointment with customer service and they will adjust for me against a big wall, manually also.

Tried calling Moorthy but he didnt pick up my call leh (called 4 times) :/

anyone else know how to adjust the headlight of e36 professionally (hehe coz wanna get the optimum brightness)

thanks

Eh, how come they dun have it. I have adjusted mine using the machine last time at AB Glenmarie. I think it is better for you to speak to Moorthy. He did it for me last time in front of my eyes. They have that machine. It is definitely not adjusting it against a wall.

Really? But the problem is Moorthy is not picking up my calls. Or was he busy with something else? Will try to call him again later or tomorrow. Hopefully he can provide solution to me. Will update you guys soon.
