Beemer,

Before you ask BMW Malaysia, you should direct your questions to the committee.

Did the club inform BMW Malaysia of its proposed events and work hand in hand? As a matter of fact, the club only look for BMW Malaysia for gifts when it comes to Annual Dinner and that also in the previous year someone had to help out to get the BMW Driver Training vouchers.

As it is, I do not think BMW Malaysia has officially invited the club for any official car launches, which is actually pretty sad for an Official BMW Car club. The same can't be said of BMW Motorrad Club Malaysia, the recent GS launch at Gohtong Jaya was filled up with members from the club. Do you all know the club received 50k sponsorship for it Annual Dinner last year? Bottom line is this, the club has to work with BMW Malaysia before asking for more goodies.

Cheers

and what event do you reckon BMW Malaysia should do besides model launch?

it would be very helpful to find out why actually TCM/Renault pro-active action to invite other car clubs...then only we can consider and criticize other car company for not doing the same...

what previous event the club have that BMW Malaysia is obliged to attend? the last event I think worth mentioning is annual dinner last year and I am sure they sponsored...

is the club working with BMW Malaysia so closely that all requests was turn down or rejected? i doubt so...

Why not? Can name any events by BMW Malaysia for BMW Owners and enthuthiast besides model.launch event lol

The point is look at the pro active approach by TCM and for whatever reasons they have allowed other car clubs to join in as well. Indirectly promoting our local motorpsort scene and encouraging people like us to participate . When was the last time BMW Malaysia attended our events? Let alone sponsor ...

BMW Malaysia has indeed sent their representatives to attend our Annual Dinner as well as sponsorship of Goodies and Driver Training vouchers ( with the help of a member here TQVM ) in the past so Bro Beemer, better get your facts right...

They can do plenty ... Previously they held a free drivers training to the public though it have to be booked via BMW voice but since then no more, they can do a bimmerfest if they so wished, do the track day for BMW owners (it is after all Ultimate Driving Machine) and plenty more ... So what event have BMW stored for us this year or the next?

Am not going to comment on that ... It's up to the CM's if they so wished to spill the beans on the working relationship and the challenges faced when dealing with BMW Malaysia (if any).

In March BMW Malaysia had an event for many owners at Four Seasons, Langkawi ... Did you not know? Just accept the fact that BMW's are not sporty sort of cars like Renault Meganes. Different markets. Different objectives.

Why do you not ask if the club will organise a track day of its own? Heck, if it does I will for sure participate even if there were no discount or subsidy.

I thought club wanna do BimmerFest? What happened la? I remember a calendar of events was put up ... Every month got this and that ... Any news about it?

As for free events, from a marketing point of view BMW Malaysia only is concerned about sales of new cars ... How to give free free free la? So basically, new owners and those who have bought a few cars get the goodies.

Ps BimmerFest in US main sponsor was not BMW I believe, was it Turner Motorsport?

No laaa...where got shoot...You are talking about last year only but I'm talking about past past years....:)

Fastest Renault pilot that there was a former Z4M racer in GrassRootAutocross championship.
So its interesting information that a former Z4M owner switching to the megane

The guy has gone thru many cars... Got the car bug when he started mixing with the Smart group when he bought the Smart Roadster, then a Subaru WRX, showed him how to properly launch the car from standing stand to get the 5+ sec century run at the now defunct PNDC.. hehe.. (Only the old timers know what PNDC is, those were the days)

He participated in the BMWCM autocross a few years back in the Z4M. Got a Mini Cooper cabrio after that too and I have seen him drove it once for autocross...

What event is that la? Most probably a model launched event lol

My gripe is that BMW doesn't make events for the public anymore or at least to us BMW owners ... While i can understand they have events for white card holders they should too do events for bmw owners regardless new or old ... Like i mention the last event was the driving course they had which open to public but thats it and that was many years ago lol

They should start or do more on motorsport events but i guess BMW is too upmarket now to do so ... is it?

Again that is for the CM to answer ... I have no inkling what is going on but we do have a factory tour lining up soon and there was the recent drive to johor so thats makes up for it for it at least.

Bimmerfest main sponsor would be Turner Motorsport for 2013 but there are few other co sponsors as well and in the past a few them are bmw dealerships.

So when you gonna turn blue Tianci? I think it's about time laaa dont you think? :4:

Why should I turn blue? Later I turn red when member starter packs are not fully disbursed I hear.

As for your statement about BMW not organising more events for all owners, why should they if it does not increase sales? They are a profit concern.

Bimmerfest is organized by BMW Car Club America (CCA) and this year they are also takin part in the classic car concourse at Monterey Bay together with the club races at Laguna Seca. BMW North America is a strong supporter of the car club, CCA member can get rebates up to USD 1500 when they purchase a new BMW, upon being a member for a year minimum.

Anyway, BMW did organised a ///M track day last year June in Sepang. It wasn't free but everyone had a chance to sample 2 ///M cars on the track. It is sad that the club members werent invited for this event. Having work with BMW for many years, I would say they are open to suggestions but the club has to take the lead and make proposals to them. We can't expect BMW Malaysia to come knocking on our doors and hand goodies to the club. When we organised bimmerfest and gymkhana in 2009 and 2010 BMW Malaysia gave us assistance as well. It's how we manage the relationship with them, of which the Motorrad Club is doinga fabulous job.

For the track junkies, Singapore ///M Club in conjunction with Munich Auto will be organizing a track day on July 13.Those interested please PM me.

Cheers

Aiyah If not happy BMW not orgynising any Events then sell your car and buy Renault instead hahaha

No need to sell la.. just go buy Megane as wknd rempitz car, keep BMW as DD.. :burnout:

If u like it chip2 & trouble free, why stop at Vios.. go all d way to Myvi la.. lagi power lagi best :D
