Hi all. Just to share that I had my 118i remapped. Now I have much better torque & horsepower. It has also been tuned to run on Ron 95 petrol without loss in power and improved fuel economy. I recently replaced the stock air filter with a K & N air filter. It really goes like a bomb. I am based in JB. If anyone is interested kindly email me.

you are welcome bro. My X1 will probably be ready by end of this month or early next month. Thinking about remapping it too

Haven't done dyno on my car yet but will try to get one. Will keep u guys posted

ohh no lah im based in KL.. I thought you did yours in JB maybe i could take advice from the shop

i'm based in KL too , anyone know where can done it professionally in KL/PJ area ?

Is it possible to tune-up and/or remap 118i's 2L engine to be on par with 120i since they're both sharing the same engine?

Bros, as said earlier, the remap will cost about 2500-3500 depending on requirements. As my personal experience, my remapped 118i goes like a bomb n could give a golf GTI a run for its money even though it is a NA engine (tried before). If the throttle is slammed hard, it goes to 6000-6200 rpm easily before each gear change on auto. It must also be noted that after the remap, my car runs on RON 95 smoothly n gives me better fuel economy albeit more torque & HP. I suppose there are some shops doing remaps but getting one who does it with dedication & passion is a totally different ball game. This guy who did my car is passionate doing it, I know as I spent several days with him getting my car tuned to my requirements. In fact, I am in discussion with him to collaborate with me to set up a remapping shop in JB to cater for enthusiasts like me. If u guys in KL are willing to get yours done, I can try to set up an appointment for him to go to KL to get your cars done. I just got a new X1 and am contemplating very hard to get it remapped too, or wait for me to set up shop then do it.

tmchuan25,

We do appreciate you sharing your experience on your remap in the forum. However please be reminded that it is in violation of forum's rules to solicit business through this forum.

Thanks

this is interesting...sounds like overselling a 'product'...
