Dear Bimmers,I'm scratching my head right now... let me get this straight. I have asked around for quotation on the quad exhaust and CCC interface... to be frank, I have received mixed responses from various parties... and I can't really decide on which one is the best...1) I will definitely go for the quad exhaust once I get my ride. Remus quad exhaust cost RM5800 while the other one quoted me about RM3000 (without telling me the brand. Is there anyone here who has done this job? Which brand and at what price? Which shop???2) This is the most headache problem... some said that I have to change the whole CCC from Japanese to UK/MYS specs... but the cost will be around 8-9k. Will I be able to listen to the radio straight away or do I have to add FM booster? What other functions that I am able to use? Other optional stuff include PDC and ipod interface. Then there's this claim that I don't have to change the CCC... but add another chip which will enable me to watch DVD and Reverse Camera The cost? 3-4k only. The thing is that I have to add a DVD unit (optional). I have to say that DVD is not my priority, as I want the radio and CD changer function to be operational. Will I still be able to add the ipod interface as well as PDC in the future?

On 1. Not sure if Remus offers one but Hamann and Eisenmann definitely do and it will be pricey if you went with more known brands. Alternatively, get it done from Jaffa. He has Hamann like exhaust and it works well

On 2. CHange your CCC once and for all. Saves you the hassle. You will get all the functionalities of the local spec'ed cars minus your TV. RM8-9k sounds about right. But be careful of where you get this done as not many have the necessary knowledge to do this properly

Yeah... Hamann original cost about RM14k++!!!
Do you happen to know how much Jaffa offers for quad exhaust?? The shop is in Sunway right???

OK... noted... CCC will be changed but will ask a few more shops which know how to handle this... compare the price first...

Thanks mate

yeah would like to know how much jaafar charges for quad exhaust....

It seems like everyone recommend Jaafar of JFA a lot :D maybe his workmanship is really up to the standard.
The pricing is also reasonable compared to what we have to pay if we get Remus, Breyton or Hamann exhaust. Really great for those who dont' wanna pay a bomb for a tool which emits Co2 and smoke... hahaha!
I think it'll be less than RM3k... but I have to personally go there and ask first... post later

Original Hamann isn't 14K. It's closer to 9K. It is extremely quiet so it'd work if you're only going for the looks but you'll be disappointed if you're going for a louder exhaust note.

I went with Remus. It looks good and sounds even better. It is very bassy compared to the others (eg. Fox).

Hi ,
After one year of using the exhaust from JFA, I decided to change it again at Wai Heng Exhaust near TESCO Puchong. The first generation exhaust offered by JFA gave the droning bass and it will cause you headache when cruising at 1800 to 2000 RPM. However, the new "Hamman style" custom made exhaust system by JFA has managed to get rid of this droning sound. But the price is about RM3000. If you want to find a good exhaust with superb workmanship than go to Wai Heng since it cost you less than RM1800. If you like quiteness, than don't forget to ask them to put the filter inside the muflers.

rm1800 for quad? What tailpipes do they provide? with or without lips? i prefer with lips.. currently im using supersprint without resonator... any power increase or loss?

Wai Heng?? My friend recommended that place as well... for RM1800, how's the sound quality? Is it bassy? I prefer bassy than loud... but most importantly, no sound emit from the exhaust if I don't step on the accelerator.

Yup, slightly more than RM5K.

Went to Exotic Mods earlier today... not much time to bargain.. but they quoted RM5.5k... any opinion?
Hopefully they can give me better price... as I am planning to buy a lot of stuff from them... oh well, just get their quotation and compare with another one in Sunway, which offer same products...

Yeah, the best way is to shop around. It's easy cause all the shops are in the same area. Try Motorsport Division. I got mine from them.

i have a bad experience with jaffar in sunway, the welding and workmanship is terrible. they destroyed my old 530i's ACS tips and my msport bumper disfuser when they butchered it for a quad pipe mod.

try going to torque speed, AH exhaust or Jian Han for a better workmanship. i had a set of supersprint cat back replacement installed in torque speed, very good and cheap. its just a few rolls behind jaffar.

hi joecool, where did you get your cat back replacement? how much was it? did it come in 2 parts or only the rear muffler only? i've got the supersprint rear muffler and removed the resonator but the 0-100kmh time suffered so i've put back the resonator and the low end response improved. any improvement after you installed yours beside the better sound?

anybody knows if a quadpipe setup will liberate more power compared to the normal 2.5" single pipe with a single backbox? surveyed some shops and some are offering twin 2" pipes that ends with two backboxes aka the quad and uses 5 silencers.ther are also a multitude of tips to choose from, including titanium tips.pretty nifty i think.

theoretically this will indeed give a nicer exhaust note but will there be any noticeable gain in oommph?? a single 2.5" pipe against twin 2" pipes..hmmmm:39:

In paper, the best exhaust configuration should be 1 exhaust pipe per bank.
Diamater should based on displacement and lenght of exhaust.

Contradictory to most believe, (I am into "new school" theory), a good car exhaust do NOT need any back pressure.
Is all based on 2 Vs, velocity & volume.
Exhaust that is too big lost velocity, thus losing power.
Exhaust that is too big lost volume, thus no power.

Since BMW I6 is 6-2-1 configuration, I will go for 2.75" exhaust for a 2.5L engine.
Slicing the exhaust into double or quad will just create more turbulence, thus less ideal. (although it look cool)

Cheers :)
