hmmmm it was an interesting day yday. the 'loss of pressure' warning sign came on. Checked and found a huge nail stuck to the side wall of my left rear tyre (225/45/17). Panicked. first misadventure with a nail on my rft. If its a regular tyre i can change it withing 20 min. Remembered my SA telling me not to patch it up but remembered forummers saying patching no problem. Went this am to fix it. Cost rm25. Pretty relieved after that. I must say having a spare is always more reassuring even if its a rft.

Ride was a bit wobbly at 80kmph. there was a total loss of pressure. I checked w a gauge.

How close to the side wall ? if at the apex of thread wear and wall, i suggest to change it. It's the highest stressed point in every tyre.

wow, 2 yrs ago i had the same issue same tyre (rear left, side wall). i patched a LOT of times.. apparently the hole grew bigger coz the kedai tayar keep patch back the same hole and i think due to their incompetency they are actually making it bigger. 1 mth can bocor 2-3 times.. fed up.. i think after almost the 10th time i decided to change a new tyre
