I think you can get a 320i 2005 for about 150k. 2006 for 160k. The premium pre-owned 2005 will cost about 165k (15k premium). Good luck...
But the B170 and the e90 are completely different type of car. It is like comparing a Myvi with a Civic. the B170 is much smaller, easier to manuver, better MPG the e90 is larger, more steady at higher speeds but lower MPG in city for sure.

I can never come up with enough reason to get a B170, even for the wifey.. but E90... hehehe, everything is right about the car.. 
Again, like what Schwepps said, safe the marriage first..
When we dispose of wifey's Perdana, similar dilemma..
1. VIOS: She say NO, I say keep the Perdana.
2. Camry: She say power same with Perdana, I say keep the Perdana.
3. E46: She say so so, I say OK. But good condition one with low mileage is too rare, found one but a retiree paid cash for it..
4. E87: She say so so, I say so so. Rear seat tak boleh pakai!
5. E90: She YES!, I say okay loo... keep poking calculator.. Die die taken this option.. so here I'm am..
