Hmmm, for best results and piece of mind is always to replace filter together with ATF fluid change. Better safe than sorry :)

Wah! I thought my E90 mileage was low.. 9 years old 120k km. Yours even more low..

Your depreciation per kilometer is RM3.12/km :listen:

Mine is RM1.42/km

UBER charges average RM0.50/km plus time cost of RM0.50/min

So if your 57,000km was clocked at average 30kmh, that's 1,900 hours or 114,000 min

Time cost: 114,000 min x RM0,50 = RM57,000

Mileage cost: 57,000 km x RM0.50 = RM28,500

Total: RM85,500.. That's only about half of your depreciation cost.. not to mention about financing cost, maintenance cost, road tax insurance cost and petrol $$..

Wah...never thought to calculate in such detail, nevertheless driving a bimmer is really costly in terms of depreciation as well as maintenance. Guess low mileage is better than high mileage when it comes to maintenance as there will be a list of items schedule queue to change when mileage get accumulate.

Dear all,

I have merged multiple threads into one so that all responses are consolidated in this thread.

Thanks!

Guys, let me briefly explain.

Transmission oil filter need to be replaced every 80k km (max 100k km). To replace the filter, the oil pan has to be opened, draining most of the oil available (eg 6.5L over a total of 9.2L for a ZF 5hp19). Thus, the oil need to be filled to replace what was drained and the oil pan gasket also need to be replaced.

Use original BMW or Parts manufactured by your transmission manufacturer to ensure you get the right product. I use ZF oil, ZF filter and ZF gasket for my 5hp19.

There are strict methods to change and ensure transmission is well.

Hope you can access the document links above. These are example of some older ZF transmission manuals and technical informations. GM and Jatco may differ slightly but the fundamentals are similar.
You may try goggle for some more related documents as many are available online.

2k for ATF change? Which workshop quoted you that? Typically using same spec oil it won't cost more than 1k
ATF - RM55/L x 7
Filter - RM260
Labor - RM100
TOTAL = RM745
Hi wingzee, appreciate if you can recommend workshop for this?

Any sifu know which ATF to be used for 2011 E90 320D Msport LCI? i have been reading almost the whole forum and searching with VIN code, getting confused. Shall it be ATFII, dexron VI or etc? Can someone help to enlighten me?

Jamescwl85, who is the manufacturer of your Transmission? Is it ZF?

Deep DeEp @ Heisenberg

Change atf around 6L with filter.
If ZF gb use plastic pan - must replace pan with filter
If GM gb use black metal pan - can replace filter only

Normally before 100k km. That is define by bmw, lifetime =100k km
