Petronas dun hv Ron 97. So I use Shell. Can get bonuslink point so can redeem toys to play hahaha. Also use Citibank Shell card to get rebates. So I can save more to mod car. hahaha

That was a good read Mr.President but most of it we already know(nevertheless,TQ).I've never been a fan of Mr.Shmuck here but don't get me wrong,I am quick to admit that he is probably the best F1 driver of the century and probably the best investment in F1 but never was a fan(strictly personal though).

Besides I don't see anything in the article mentioning Petronas's involvement in the team la.Am I reading the wrong article?What I think is a good read is what's in the Star paper today regarding how Petronas slapped Lotus in the face.I'm not sure if it comes thru as compliment to all parties concerned or otherwise but I sure could feel a tinge of sarcasm.To quote them 'Petronas which is now swimming in money' and 'Between March last year and this they made 9.something Billion Sterling Pounds(that's right,Pounds).

It's a short story but nevertheless a good read.

If Petronas signed deal with Merc GP and MS is to drive for Merc GP, So MS would be wearing Merc GP-Petronas shirt and he'll be appearing on TVC pumping Petronas into his new Merc... Get it?

Petronas is looking far beyond that... Tying up with Lotus will limit its reach in the international arena... It's business at the end of the day...

Patriotism aside, this is purely commercial reason and potential to further grow the brand internationally!

just a few weeks ago many people complained when TF decided to come up with this grand idea of a Malaysian F1 team and now this? Let's see in a few years' time if TF is still in F1 or he has pulled out and left the Malaysian government to support this F1 team.

Good for Petronas to position itself as a global brand as it intends to be in the top next Big 4 in the O & G sector. This is purely a commercial reason and not supposed to be mixed with social obligations. Go Petronas!!!

i would tend to agree if the idea was a private initiative in the first place. when it's mooted by the top man himself, i think social obligations should be in play. after all, we only have 1 glc with oil rights in malaysia.

I still think it's not a grand idea but since it was decided by the powers above(like as if what we think matters),the same powers should have also made sure some obligations are looked into.I can totally understand if Petronas was never into F1 in the first place or if they had decided to pull out of it entirely but they have been very involved and now they have an opportunity to be a truly Malaysian outfit and yet they chose to do this?A Malaysian Petro company does not have confident it's own Malaysian F1 team?

I still get this sick to the stomach feeling that some Malaysian freak is making tons of mulla from this whole thing with Merc.If you're taliking mileage in terms of exposure,I think the new F1 teams would get lot's of air time and mentions.Let's see if we see PETRONAS being advertised in everything Mercedes like Ferrari and Shell.I'll tell you now,I doubt it and I'm waiting to be corrected here.

This whole crap reminds me of how our Education ministry goes harping about how good our system is and guess what?Our very own Education minister sends his kids to International schools!!
