hi, i'm new to this BMW world so i need your sifus advice. :hello: I'm using BMW 318i (2003). I got the car few months ago and my car reached 110,000km. What should i do for my service? Do i need to go for full inspection as i do not know what the service like for my car. Do i need to go for major service or a minor one will do? What type of service should i do? How much should i standby? :dontknow: Hope your guys can help me... thanks a million. :top: Oh, thought of bringing my car to M Speed USJ, are they good?Adichenko :help:

Hi there,

I'm far from being the most knowledgable here, but what I did for my 1996 E34 was go for Body inspection and full service. As your car is 2nd hand and has hit the 100k mark, it would be best to find out if the engine is fine plus the entire body of car. I gave my car to Auto Bavaria in Glenmarie...they changed my fan belt, went through Body Inspection II, full service, changed wipers, damage was around 2k.

Would recommend spending a little extra for your inspection, after that you drive with peace of mind. Hope this helped...and hope others pitch in soon! :)

hi bro...these are what i could think of:
1) do a diagnostics and see if there are any faults...if yes, see if repair is needed (if you think you need second opinions, then do get them before you commit)
2) ATF oil and filter...if it has not been changed previously, maybe it's time? think ATF oil is around RM40-50 per litre...
3) the normal engine oil and filter change...
4) check brake pads...
5) time to service aircond?

if there's no faults being diagnosed, then the car just needs the normal servicing...unless your car feels jerky, no power, car suddenly dead while on road etc...

my opinion...hope it helps...

here is the list of thing to do for 110K Km:-

Based on priority basis and budget.
1. change air filter.
2. Change engine oil and filter.
3. change petrol filter.

If got more budget.
4. change all water hoses.
5. change expansion tank for the radiator.

If got more more budget.
6. Change all mounting bushings- engine, GB, suspension.

Lastly, if got more budget and long term savings
7. Change ATF oil, seal and ATF filter

The above are wear & tear items and are schedule to be change regardless whether they are in good condition or not.

Do the aboves and you should be worry free for awhile.

No 4 & 5 are definitely a must, you don't want to be stranded by the roadside with leaked expansion tank or water hoses. Mine failed at 88k km and a lot of other e46 owners rarely make it pass 100k km or 5 years w/o those parts fail
