dudes,i have been driving my 318 e46 for a year, but i am not a player for all the technical thing. in this year i only service my car twice..once in SG and JB the last time.the work shop in SG told me that it is normal that bm service the oil for 25k kmbut the workshop in jb told me, should be 10k km..holy crap.. who should i listen to?can any frens here give me some advice how to do my car maintanaince.thanks zorrofirre

BMW recommends 25k km, but seeing how hot our climate is, that might not be the best option. Depends on your driving style and usage too. If 25k km takes you 6 months to chalk up, then maybe might be feasible. But if you (like me) would take 2 years just to get 25k km, then more advisable to do it at least once a year.

If you drive hard, then also advisable to do more frequent oil changes. For me, I do it every 10k km. Which in chronological terms would mean about 8-9 months.

Oh, and also depends on the oil quality you use. To even consider 25k km, should be highest synthetic quality.

to take good care of ur car is beter to change ur oil every 10k km,it will prevent you to spent more $ for overhaul etc...the oil in our engine will get dirty & if u change every 25k km there will be a lot of slush in it.no harm to change oil oftenly & oil is cheaper than overhaul etc... do change ur gear box oil,gear box oil filter every 60k km to protect ur gear box.my car is a 18 year old uncle i change every 5k km using semi synthetic.
