By the way, should I apply for roaming services for my mobile phone ka? After I lost my way and stuck in Gelang and can't call out using my phone for help, quite jia lat le..

Bro must define first what is Slowpoke... for some people Slowpoke = anything below 130km/h... for others it can be anything below 90km/h.

Suggest we use categories like [90-100], [110-120], [120-140], [>140]. Then we could group up accordingly, and of course, the slower group should head off first.

We should also get the phone numbers of cars in our group, and perhaps the committee members on the trip as well, so if we get separated, run into problems, etc, we have someone to call. I realise to my embarrassment, I only have the phone numbers of a few. Are we going to be using walkie-talkies? I would make the investment to get one, but only if there are others using a similar/compatible model.

i am using vhf walkie talkie,i still can borrow a few unit from friend.i bought mind rm300(china brand)

The most important walkie talkie we need is the one that can receive traffic police channel..

btw, do we need S'pore relevant authority to approve the walkie talkie frequency band u fellas are using? remember that's a fine country! .. and those traveling with kids, the toddler booster seat and baby seat is a must to strap down the kids. Can't remember the age group though, which age group must use booster seat or which age group must use baby seat...

... and yea, don't forget to use those rear seat belts. Damn ma-fan!

If those who wants to stretch your 'legs' a bit on the NKVE, do so at your own wallet's risk loh... U get my drift?
Anyway, best to designate some R&R stops.. make 2 stops maximum along the way otherwise, it'll be a looooonnnnng drive.. those who wants to stretch wings a bit would just need to regroup at the designated stops.

Looking at the list, only 10 cars so far going without an Autopass.. Shouldn't take too long at the checkpoint. These cars can probably go first leaving from the Gelang Patah R&R.. Give about 15 mins head start before the rest leave. Then we can probably convoy together to PML after the checkpoint.

As for the Walkies, the normal Motorola Talkabout can be used with much issues.. These units are for short range though..

Long range talkies can be reserved for the convoy marshalls' usage. I would suggest having few marshalls to lead the small groups, in case the convoy breaks up while in Spore. The marshall would be the small groups leader.

I believed the organising committee would have all these points taken care of..

Can't wait for the drive...

Another thing to take note is that since 31 Aug is a public Holiday here. We may face traffic jam coming back from Sgp...

And may I suggest that any latest updates to be conveyed to the participants via PM.. Some may not take notice if it's posted here amidst all the other posts.. This is to avoid unnecessary communication breakdowns.

You don't require to have ALL tow truck contacts. You have Road Warrior.
