Bro there is no such thing as BMW Club enthusiastla, the meaning of club as defined by wikipedia "A club is an association of two or more people united by a common interest or goal."....but ur idea is good! only thing is implementing it will cost $$$ which 150 people cannot afford to yet as then we will need a payment gateway and what not but not impossible.

I think payment can be done without much cost.. only admin work. If the BMWCM has a bank account, payment can be made into it. So, a possible registration process will be:-

1. Forum user fills in the regular registration form to register a "nick".
2. Before the "nick" is approved, payment must be made to the BMWCM account and details sent to a designated CM.
3. Once the payment is verified, the "nick" is then approved for access in forum.

Bro, to me, BMW enthusiast is someone who likes the brand, and very interested and perhaps passionate about the brand. A "club enthusiast" is someone who likes the activities of the club, and very interested and perhaps passionate about the activities of the club.

So, on one extreme, a "pure" BMW enthusiast can be someone who eats, sleep, dreams BMW, can probably tell you how many screws it takes to built each model and the like, but doesn't like to be with ppl. On the other extreme, a "pure" Club enthusiast can be someone who loves to go for TT, trips and drives in convoy, but thinks BMW makes bicycle (http://www.brooklynmachineworks.com/). Then, there's the rest of us who lies somewhere in between both extremes. That's just my interpretation la...

After reading all the post today from the OM today my impression is that we the CG is no longer welcome in this forum. I was among the first few that joint the forum when it was first started. I have been around since then till now and have seen the changes that have happened. It first started as a forum for all the BMW enthusiast to discuss and share on their common interest, BMW. I'm sorry to say that if our presence as a CG now have become a nuisance to the club and if your impression as a OM that we the CG did not contribute anything for the BMWClub. Thanks to XXX for his calculations and also his thought on the fees and everything...

I pity the club because 150 people of OM paying to feed 260k people...or for the matter of fact 2683 people. Every person have their own reason for not joining as OM. I can tell U that RM 300 is nothing to me but for me, I just want to share ideas and knowledge. My working commitment limits my time and my home is away from U all in KL. I don't have the luxury of time to come to KL and joint U all every week and every TT and every outing. I wish the club will continue with their ego and all the egomaniac to continue to expand. As for me I think time have come for me to get out from this forum...

I can see the BMWClub is going to become BMW Malaysia, if u buy the car from grey importer U are not welcome to BMW Malaysia. Everything U need here is going to be charge, really now becoming Banyak Makan Wang...

Do I need the BMWClubmalaysia? Sorry to say, I don't need U all. I have enough friends to be with me...

Again, I'm sorry if my presence as a CG has become a nuisance to U all egomaniac OM...

Think this restriction is a bit of a knee jerk reaction but necessary i guess.

Gratitude to the CM's on making the hard decisions and running the club. I know i wouldn't take the extra effort, time and money to help run this club as i have other commitments so i appreciate all your sacrifices.

I don't go TT's much nor do i join for drives, activities, agm, dinners etc but i do frequent the forums and met a few people who here who ended up being good friends with and for that i think it's worth the membership fee. I fully agree with XXX on all his points and views now but honestly in the past i didn't. Think it would be very nice to have a BMW clubhouse and other goodies if the club had more official members.

I have more reasons than most not to join this club as i have been called names, posts deleted, ignored at TT's by past members and committees... matter of fact only reason i joined at first is because of people saying... can drive m3 but can't pay to be member (don't know who said it exactly but it was relayed by someone). The past is the past though so anyway here i am, an official member in full support of the club.

Guys chill... CM's did this to stop conmen and cheats, in no way it is directed to any individual. Any club guests want to genuinely sell their stuff can always ask their friend to post on behalf.

I am asking for calm not because i am friends or close to any CM's or OM's or CG's it is because i like this club and i want it to be around and grow...

Believe many may have missed what the announcement is all about. It is about preventing unscrupulous CG selling in the Classifieds section and taking advantages of fellow members. CM is only restricting CG from selling in the Classifieds section. CG can still view, buy and post questions/comments for the item for sales. Other than this restriction, CG still have access to all section of the forum with the exception of the Exclusive Lounge.

CM have mentioned many times, all are welcome to participate and contribute to this forum. However from time to time, additional rules & regulations need to be implemented for the betterment of our club.

Spot On!... This is the reason why im paying my fees annually... Its not abt TT, making friends and what not ... Its abt this club being here forever and getting bigger and better... But if we dont do anything to encourage membership and everybody has the same attitude of why pay and those who pay, say why pay when others no need to pay, in the end this club willcease to exist and the forum with it... Is this what u all want? Im sure some of u here are members of some association overseas and u pay a yearly fee for what reason ? I suppose so that this association can be in existence even though u only probably get a newsletter or 2 in a year but u get bragging rights to say ur associated with that association. So why cant one join as member just for that bragging rights too other than asking what can the club do for me bcos at the end of the day its what u can do for the club.

Been reading and I find that:

- sales issue is kinda hard but it does try to resolve some pertinant issues
- some people here should learn what forums are about and need not make it their life's purpose to show call non members in the forum freeloaders, that is so unnecessary
- some people also should not be so quick to act as the forum is still open to CG and the club itself did not label CGs as freloaders
- some people need not call others derogatory names when it gets very mildly heated

This is only a forum for us to have fun. Why get so uptight over a small remark etc? What we post reflects on our maturity.

For OM's who are unhappy with this announcement please call for an EGM to repeal this ruling or bring up at the next AGM.

For CG's who are unhappy with this announcement please turn blue so that you can call for an EGM or attend the AGM to repeal this ruling.

Finally I think the CM Has already make a decision so I think this thread should be closed cause the purpose is to announce the new ruling and not meant for further discussion.
