Hi All,i work in Guangzhou China and am looking around for any good quality after market stuff.Have found some good ones, like the Rear Seat Entertainment System (Monitors built into the seat, not tablets).Pretty expensive tho, about RM15,000. Made in Korea.Very nice finishing, just like OEM specs. 10" monitors, no cutting of the seats, etc.Since my F10 has a DVD player, the video is said to display on the rear monitors as well.Just wondering if it is too expensive.Any thoughts?

Hi..
15k is indeed pretty expensive.
Is your car the Li version in China?

No Sir,
my car is in PJ.
Just working here, take all my time off at home to be with my family.
Yeah, I'm trying to get him to knock the price down a bit. I think he will agree to RM13,000.
I hope it will not be silly of me to get it. Does look cool tho.

Cheers,

RAVI.

Thanks Eggie86.
Actually i have been in and out of this club forum since 2000.
I've just been lazy. Its high time I get more active!!

At that kind of price, you're better off buying a spare head rest from eBay and getting some kind of display, cut the head rest and get the leather guys to rewrap it. The total would be at most half or less than RM 13,000.

On the no cutting of seats and etc, have you considered where the cable is going to run from the head rest to the head unit?

Bro,
doesn't that look better than a Headrest Monitor.
The wires feed into the Front Seats with the back panel removed.
Then it goes underfloor along with the seat wiring, and i presume branch off to the Head Unit.
What do you think buddy?

Sorry lah bro, that just looks like a cheap rip off from the original BMW rear entertainment system:

Have you checked with them the cost for one of the original ones instead? Retrofittable?

Nothing made out of Korea or China would set you back RM 13k, if it does, you're seriously being ripped off. The manufacturing cost of a 10.4 LCD display out of Korea is only RM 40-ish!

haha! True Bro.
Here's the deal:-
1.) NO retrofit available.
2.) Cost is very much lower than 13K, for sure, but being that the guy in China is a Dealer, "single" units sold are at a higher rate. He told me to buy more and he'll give it to me for 10K.
I've only got 1 F10 ma!
3.) yes, it is a rip-off from the OEM version, thats why im keen. I like to keep my cars looking original.
Not to sound conceited but my E38 which I've had from day 1 is still looking new.
The BMW Sales Director in GZ is a JB guy. I sent him the specs and wiring diagram and he confirmed that it will not cause problems to the other vehicular systems as long as the power is tapped from the battery or from the spare fuse socket.
If i do decide to go for it, i'll let you guys know the outcome, for sure.
