Hi there,Am new....just registered today!(13-11-2009). Yay. I bought in March this year, a 320i Sports Edition. My first Bimmer!I have been lurking on this forum for a bit and realise much to my horror, that while I have bought a car that I fell in love with at first sight, after reading a few of the posts here - that I know absolute sweet F/A about taking care of my car.I read that following the CBS system for servicing and maintenance is not such a smart idea. My car is gone 6000 klicks and hasn't had a service yet. So, I've made an appointment to have the engine oil and engine oil filter changed. Is there anything else you guys think I should have done, when the car goes into the shop tomorrow. So far, almost everything about the car makes me happy as pie...... the squeaky windows are a bit of a niggling annoyance but I read somewhere that AB will fix it with some tape or silicon? Also, there was this one time when I started the car, and it made a sort of pop or 'mini-fart' before starting completely. I took it straight to AB(I live 5 minutes away from the Penang branch! Yes, they're gonna see a lot of me if things go wonky) and they 're-programmed' it and now it's fine. What worried me the other day was when I was driving out of a junction and I stepped on the accelerator. The acceleration was pretty sluggish. Like I wasn't stepping enough on the gas. There was quite a lag. Might this be a sign of the dreaded fuel pump issue?Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on getting your car, and don't worry, you won't feel "ennui" with a UDM

You're doing nothing wrong, first oil change at 6k is ample. And while it's still under warranty and BSRI, keep going into AB whenever you think something is wrong. Bimmers need care.

Thanks so much...What's a BSRI? Oh no...another acronym to learn. And seriously....I'm thinking of being a cheapskate. Will change the oil at my old mechanic's place. He was a foreman with Fed Auto - and sent all my cars to him without much probs.

BMW Service and Repair Inclusive. Time to read the booklets in the pack that came with your car!

Up to you whether you want to change outside or not, but buy an original oil filter from AB spare parts. No point changing oil without changing the filter. And your outside mechanic will probably fill with a semi synthetic oil unless you specify what oil you want. Look up the oil threads for details.

I have that "mini fart " sound too for my E90 320i ( after all the little lights on then off on the panel). So confirm it is programming issue? I am going to tell them during my next service. The sluggish feelings is same for me for the first 2 months of my car but I feel the same if I pump Ron 95. If use Ron 97 it is quite okay.

Hi there,

Upon hearing the 'mini-fart', I drove the car straight away to AB and they reprogrammed it - or at least that's what they told me. This happened in April and haven't heard it since. And concerning the sluggish feeling or the belated delivery of power, I've only used ron97 and prior to that, V-power.

Bro my advice if u still have your BSRI go to an autorized dealer and sort the problem u have with your car...the package covers a few items that are changed F.O.C...provided your car is less then 2 years of purchase and has clocked less then 60k km...need a hand with the warranty package give me a buzz...016-6037099

It happened again....the non-responsive accelerator issue. I notice it happens within the first few minutes of starting the car. I was leaving an underground car park and moving up the ramp, when I noticed that the car did not respond to my stepping on the accelerator. I had to pump it with my foot a couple of times. Aiyoh..... I guess I really do have to the car into AB tomorrow.
