Nice job there Jarance. Looking for an old headset to cannibalize, not in hometown.

I'm just back after stuck in Ipoh/Gopeng for 24hrs due to belt snap (engine overheated, no power steering, no air cond, alternator not running).

Anyway, installed the reverse camera during the break. Fishing the wire through the tight tube at the bootlid proves to be the hardest!

So Jarance....have you tested your mic project work or not? Is it better? Does type of wire use affect the sound quality? I haven't try the mod since our towkay said it will void the warranty.

forget about getting thru the rubber tube. you might be able to squeeze the cable but not the connector as the diameter is slightly bigger.

i have route it outside as shown below.

Guess I did it the hard way. I have to cut the connector and solder it back just to fish the wires through.

Another thing is that the number plate light is already LED, so no warning or resistor necessary. Will post picture tonight.

i did it the same way, cut the wires, push it through the rubber grommet and reconnect later. dont like dangling wires showing in the car.

have to use WD-40 to make your life easier. Ghee pun boleh...

Not yet test it yet. still waiting for the paint to dry.

I think it should be OK since it worked quite well when it was resting on top of the monitor which was about 0.5 meter away.

For short distance, the cable does not affect the sound quality.

Now thinking of getting a connector plug where the internal mic is enable when the external mic is disconnect and disable the internal mic when the external mic is connected. :smokin:

override switch to use the camera when not in reverse gear

The override switch for the camera is my other project that I still didnt have time to complete on my reverse camera. May I know how you wired it?

I have a wiring diagram, something like this but I dont know where to tap the ground at the front:

haywire, let me draw mine for you. I'm using two relays for this

Your circuit should work fine once you found a ground. Ground is any part of the chassis or you can tap the headunit ground which is usually brown wire (I think). Have you multimeter handy to make sure.

My circuit is as below but a little different from yours as trigger level is different, mine need +12V to activate while yours need ground. After looking at the circuit, I don't really need the relay on the right, oh well.

yes steering still can work....the only thing u have to know how many pin of ur player socket cuz got 2 type.

Anyone that buys this unit better pay a visit to Unker Jarance. He is a man that bertonggengjawab.

This is how it looks like for cars with Navigation.

Reverse camera fixed quite easily. On the coupe just removed the reflector plate and a little grinding.

My feedback from the unit.

1. The SQ from the unit (if used with CD Changer) is similar to the ori.
2. Reverse camera works perfectly and pretty cool
3. I-GO navigation is working well too, but being a Garmin user I thought the Garmin interface looks better
4. Day/Night Illumination all works like ori
5. Ipod/Iphone works great. Can recharge and easily access the whole music bank.

On my car, the fakra cable runs back to the front thru beneath the carpet pretty much like the original route.

All in all, this is a good upgrade for E38/E39/E46/E53 owners, now you have almost a PC in your car :)

This is way better than an Intravee or Dice if you ask me.

How did your installer run the cable harness from rear to front?
