By any chance do you think you could find a way to tap into our I-BUS and read our OBC data?

That's the only thing preventing me to from getting this unit atm. Dowanna loose the OBC readouts by having to replace my MID, unles of course this new hooligan can do what my MID does

At this moment, you cant read the I-bus data cos it is not wired up. The DVD player is only wired to the CAN bus which control the MF on the steering wheel. This is done by the CAN Bus module supplied with the unit.

In theory, it can be done via a I-Bus converter (serial to USB converter) by using the USB port. Data is then tap or read via I-Bus protocol. Once the data can be read, you can then used a customised faceplate to display
the data. btw, this is my next project. Being thinking about it for a long long time.

What a relieve! Had that in my mind ever since some one came up with this awesome player that practically does everything under sun except for just that one thing.

I'm currently looking up foreign forums and googling for leads on anything that relates to this hack!

That's fine...to relocate the MID and somehow connect it. But the real question is, can the display on that MID be outputted to the Hooligan touch screen so that we can touch and select all the OBC options & display it? Rather than having to open the glove compartment to monitor the OBC. Get what i mean...

This one i don't think so. May be u have to wait Master to hack it.

Scarify is needed. For me, no problem as i never read the data via the IRS/MID. The data read via instrument cluster is good enough for me. :smokin:
