I am looking for navigation CD for Kuala Lumpur. So far, I came across a few local companies that sold nav equipment but they are all PC based. BMW original nav CDs are only for North America, Europe, Japan and Middle East markets. Someone told me that there was one Singapore-based company that sold the CD but I could not remember.Thanks.

bro try...malaysian gps forum...i think its under malsing or something...google..it...they definitely have it...but will work with garmins, magellen n stuff...good luck!

I have actually contacted the company that makes the Map DVD for BMW and
they said they don't have a Malaysian version. Other maps available now for Garmin, Magellan and Pocket PC formats can't be uploaded into the car.

try to contact www.navitech.com.my
its the only company in malaysia which have the correct maps and routes for KL & pj..soon the whole peninsular.

but the problem is the BMW dvd rom is expensive for writting in to the BMW's program. dont think they have it for BMW yet. but you can try.

well, if u use the maps from malsingmap

It covers whole peninsular malaysia, singapore, sabah & sarawak.

It has a lot of Interest Point of Interests too, Even the Fish head Curry and mamak.

It support Palm, Pocket PC and Symbian. I dont bother to use any other system after using it.

i use garmin 60CSx .. with downloaded maps from malsingmaps..

it works like a charm..

External antenna is required due to the fact that the metallic compound in v-kool blocks the satellite signals.

Newer GPS receiver models by garmin, uses the newer SIRFIII chipset, this chipsets would be able to penetrate thru v-kool, but the accuracy is still not good (hence i got the external antenna).

Due to limited accuracy, if used without external antenna - the signal would also be extremely weak when u drive thru the urban jungle...

the BMW NAV uses a different operating syatem for all the maps that was mentioned here..perhaps u might try Singapore BMW dealer whether they have the map for this region..but i doubt so ..anyway..good luck

Use like what Faz said....it works damn good...forget trying to get ori or what from bmw...its not out yet n god knows when it will.. :D

Mohdfaz, where do you get your garmin? do you buy online via their site or some shops in Malaysia?

maps are available for the bmw sat nav system now.

Non navi e60's can get the widescreen and navigation retrofitted at any bmw dealer for a whopping grand total of RM27k.

Japan spec E60's with navi need some modification to work. Minor i think..

since nokia n95 also has GPS function, it is advisable to buy Nokia instead of garmin? I do not have these gadgets. Please advise.
