Noticed that the Alpinas are much harder to clean, no thanks to the 20 spokes... Gets dirty pretty easily too, judging from how frequently I had to wipe the rims after only a day in use.

Bro, noticed ur rims are different from the one advertised in the link u gave on the previous page. Try to look at the lips...why ?

Mata tajam ya.

I reckon yours is older design instead the 17".

If u surf the info, u can see the order and smaller Alpina rims all have the same lip design as yours. After 17", the lip design was changed.

Thanks for clarifying bro.

Btw, almost finalising arrangements for the refund. Will update you once settled. Thanks.

hehe....why la 16"....u should go for 18" at least :p

18" is super duper hard to get ler..

Alpina vs AC Schnitzer rims availability, which one more easier to search for, irrespective of size.

Like Meen, still searching for his 19' type 3...

but the nuts on acs type 3 racing makes the sponge belubang... but yes easier to clean ;)

Should use microfibre and a small paintbrush to reach those nooks and crannies Iylia... :p

Hahaha, no la. I learnt from the ultimate detailing sifu.

I admit sponges are convenient to use, but they might end up scarring the surface of the rims.

Eggie I think your inbox is full. Yes that is the email add. Thanks once again mate.

Hey bro, thanks for the heads up. Yup, my mailbox was full; already cleared some.

I've sent it again yesterday evening. Able to receive it? I got a message that it was already delivered. Alternatively if it's still unsuccessful, would you have another email address where I can send it to?

Cheers bro.

Finally got my new o-rings yesterday after work, and immediately go to work by removing the previous ones and putting on the new ones. Surprisingly, the old ones went off quite easily, and better still, the new ones fitted just nice, without any need for serious elbow grease.

Mind you, at 1am, I honestly didn't want any hard work!

The old rubber seals.

New ones fitted and ready to go on tomorrow!

Even the lock caps fit perfectly now after changing the seals.

Can't wait to test it out whether the caps will still make any sounds later.

Check mudah today... lots of type 3 in 18" guise.... couple of M pars too.... tempting.....

Field report - 07.07.2011

After fitting the seals the night before, I was up early the following morning to fit those caps back on my rims. First 3 caps fitted perfectly. I even purposely tried to push the caps myself to see whether they were still loose, but thankfully, they fitted snugly. :)

But problem arose with final cap. Felt that the rubber seal was a bit bloated, and had problems putting it on and locking them. Tried applying some WD40 and used a small hammer in the hopes of making the seals a bit flatter, but to no avail. Ended up resorting to using my barefeet to slowly kick the caps into place so the rubber seals will hopefully be forced into the gap.

Knowing how useless I am at DIY, I struggled initially. Even resorted to exchanging the caps with the other 3 wheels, but the same problem existed. So I knew the problem must be with that very cap + seal itself. I almost wanted to give up and replaced the new seal with the previous ones, and eventhough it went on without a hitch, it was still loose and I really hated the sound it would make when I am driving.

So, tried and tried again, using my feet to kick the caps, and my thumbs became numb from the constant forcing of the keys to try and lock it. So, end result? Took me almost 30mins for the final cap, and voila, finally in place.

And hell no I ain't gonna open THAT cap anymore.

So, a big thank you to Mizhan and Badrul for recommending the fresh set of seals as the remedy to my problems. You guys are Alpina legends. :top:

Sharing a few close up shots, will try to take more pics soon.
