Hey guys,Currently on the lookout for a new pair of gas springs for my bonnet as the existing ones are kaput and can no longer hold the bonnet in place. Very dangerous and inconvenient.Actually, my dad previously bought a pair before from Jalan Ipoh, but when I brought it to Optimum to be fitted a couple of months ago, I was told the part couldn't fit. Then today whilst browsing thru ebay/schiedmann/realoem, it seems that I had purchased the correct part. I have attached a diagram of the parts as obtained from realoem.com:
It's item number 12 - Gas pressurized spring 420N 2 51231908465According to the site, the correct part number is 51 231 908 465. And from what I can see, I seem to have the correct parts:So, I already have the struts [Picture A]. And based on what I had found on ebayuk, it seems that some are selling just the struts, and others, with additional items as per the Picture B below: [Picture A]
Picture B
So my question is, what else am I required to purchase in order to rectify the bonnet? Is there any additional screws or grommets [the two items on the side in Picture B] which are required before the new springs can be fitted onto my ride?Really appreciate some guidance here guys. Thanks!
