Wallet key comes with the chip embeded inside, the best you can get is a clone key with the fob which is not suitable to be kept in the wallet .

I only program it to beep and flash when I locked the car.

The scanner are selling quite cheap at Aliexpress.

I dun think you can buy this wallet key other than from BMW.

My suggestion is that you buy this

http://www.lazada.com.my/entry-remote-key-fob-transmitter-clicker-w-uncut-blade-315mhz-forbmw-e46-8931108.html

And you mod it into such way whereby it can open your door & start your car.

Get a reasonable priced keyman to clone the code from your EWS & cut your key .

Or we need to look for those that are plug & play & compatible with E46 or that just any LCD player will fit ?

Some newer ones are actually made like an android tablet whereby you get most tablet functions & some smart guy mod a ipad mini into their E46 too, haha, that ipad mini can be taken out when you leave the car too
The 2 din player that I know are Hualingan and Dynawin during the early days. They are the most compatible plug and play 2 din DVD player
at that time. I have installed Hualingan for my car. It comes with winCE 5 firmware. The later model come with winCE 6 and Android firmware.

Both dynawin and hualingan fit nicely in the existing console with any modification.
However, you may need a adapter for the AC module when you shift it down. I have install it without
the adapter and it look quite nice.

Problem with ipad modification is that you loose the MF from the steering wheel. i.e. you cannot change channel, volume.
and you can still use the CD player as well.

Hi kw930,

Is it safe to purchase overseas products from lazada? Any tips to to look for before purchasing. I saw double din installation kit in lazada for rm148 which is really cheap and tempted to buy for my double din diy with reverse camera

Actually buy from Lazada is quite safe, even if the product is up to your expectation, you can anytime ask Lazada to refund for you.
Besides, you may find that actually those oversea seller in Lazada is not much different than the one you saw in Aliexpress or eBay China seller, price wise also about the same.

No more using it. I lost the sound for the player. The display is OK.
Anyway, dont need it anymore. Using waze or google Navigation on my smartphone.

Jarance,

How long did ur 2 din player lasted? If just 2-3 years i dun think worth spending 3k on this player. How about dynavin users? Dynavin should be made in germany n last almost like the oem player.

I installed Dynavin on my 46 way back in Jan 2012, forking out nearly 2.5k for the headunit, and adding another rm200 for the papago maps & license. it is still working fine till today. updated the maps once in 2013, but then lost interest in the papago as Waze was a better option. updated the firmware too at the same time. only thing that had to be changed was the rear view camera, as the picture quality diminish over time. thats anywhere between rm100 to rm200 a piece, depending on type/features. my buttons on the steering still works too.

coming to 5yrs and still working fine. but mostly for radio, the occasional DVD watching during long drives, music from USB, and hands-free phone connection thru Bluetooth.

There are some forumers installed eonon d5150.. its cheap but don't know how good is the unit and is it long lasting..

due to budget constraint, might opt for this. Its very unsafe to reverse my udm especially during night.. as for navigation, i prefer waze. If this unit has hp mirroring capabilty than it will be great

No doubt Waze is the best navi now.

Who said Dynavin made in Germany? If it is, the price would not be so cheap la.

All those double din nowadays can get very cheap online. Not need to pay for 3k liao.

My regular tech also told me that dynavin not made in germany, all the players are made in china.. but there are few accessory shop claims their player from korea. Not sure its true and how good the player is..
