Hi Rishi,

Am considering an e46 myself.

Would you really recommend getting this car?
In your experience do you think it's reasonable priced to maintain this model?
Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks.
Hi,

To cut short.. this e46 is the nearest to a sports car i ever driven.. i always fancied of getting 2000 celica but the power is limited to very short band from rpm 6k to 8k.. u dun drive at that rpm everyday. Then came to my mind.. soft turbos.. i even considered suprima s.. but proton cars lacks the build quality..finally 2 cars in mind.. c180 kompressor w203 and e46..by the look, e46 is more masculine, ruggert..w203 more of a executive car.. i wanted to go for the 6 cylinder 325i but most of it was bashed up.. but the m54 engine is a marvel.. 200hp + hi-rev characteristic, its very hard to drive slow.. n42 is also the same but lack of 60hp very prominet when u have loaded with ppl.. u can leave many cars behind especially pulling of from traffic lights. 50 50 weight is marvelous, u dun have to brake in corners, just enter corner at what speed u r in.. and the steering response is very accurate and alive..especially during hard driving

But good things don't come cheap.. if u have been driving japanese including perodua or even proton, you gotta get used to expensive parts to change for this car.. especially for wear and tear parts.. mechanics are important too.. need to find the honest and capable ones if not you gona spend thousands and yet cannot solve problems.

Important of all you need a lots of patients and need to do a lots of studies related to the maintenance of the car..one more suggestion, u have a perodua or a proton car, dun sell it cos most of the time u have to let the car in mechanic shop cost the maintenance.on the car isn't simple..

That should be ok for me. For me the more important is the HU, good HU can produce more quality song compare to the OEM HU. Of course we need to get the quality MP3 source in the 1st place :)

Hi sifus, I have been planning to get a 328i pretty soon but right now which workshop do you guys recommend in KL ?

Thanks

It has been while since i post in this forum. Latest update:
1) aircond gave way.. thinking its final stage resistor. Bought 1 from lazada.
2) attempt to diy, failed. Went to aircond shop finally diagnosed with blower fan failed. Changed blower motor and did a mini service on air cond system.

For those northen beemer, i recommended this aircond shop in kulim beside stadium keladi. Very good, skillfull and polite.

Had battery flattened out 2 days ago..cca is only showing 180A..had 2 choice gs and century marathoner. Finally settled with marathoner due to attractive price. RM 330 vs RM 480. The size was din66l. The old battery was made in and surprisingly lasted 5yrs. Not sure how long marathoner can go..
