Hi guys.... finally my mechanic dismantle my whole engine .... what a dreaded site!!! SLUDGE all over .... all the oil passages was blocked.....my engine was black in color as if it was a frying pan which was not washed..... manage to change the engine .... my repairs came up to rm 13,500 ..... wow..... but now it is good as new ya.........

malvin, what did the mech changed? All the piston rings and seals? The head & block all ok? 13k for that is quite a expensive repair. Now already running good? From my previous experience, after new piston rings fitted, u need to have a run in period, don't drive hard yet.
I had gone through dismantled head & block a few times for my Integra but that's different story, mod for power instead of repair, but its really a long tedious work. Hopefully i won't need to go through for UDM. I just bought mine not long ago, now is SRS problem. According to my previous owner he changed 3 parts already just for the SRS. How i wish there is some way to disable the warning light.

No la.... change whole engine cost me rm 6500....only.... I change many other stuff too.... All rubber pipes and host..... 4 boge shock absorber set including the mounting .... all engine and gearbox mounting.... power steering host and kit changed.... thats why it cost me a bom.... He took 2 weeks to get all this done .... now all it need is a 2 pairs of michellen tyres.....

Just finish 5000 km using Motul Fully Synthetic Oil 10-40w..... Checked dipstick today.... still at Max line.... but color of the oil dark a bit.... viscosity feels the same .... I am planning to change the Oil in another 2000 km if no drop .... Its my own decision but my mechanic suggest every 10 k change oil.... My mechanic Albert Pang was the one who choose the engine for me.... It was a half cut car came from Japan from his friend shop...Dont ever buy a loose engine from any kedai potong.... very very risky bro.... take care.

Bro,

Welcome to bimmer club.I'm also learn a lot from this forum and really appreciate it.My advices are U have to confirm and understand what is the problem is/are to ur ride then make ur decision.eg.vacum pump, the component is hardly damage but sometime it comes with 2 pcs rubber O ring and always cause to oil leak.Normally we only change this worn out O ring and sure less in cost rather than change for the new vacum pump.

Gud luck bro.

what u talking man.... here we talking about minyak hitam and u talking about vacuum pump?.... Go to vacuum pump thread bro.......
