Dear fellow forummers,Would like to check if anyone is facing the problem whereby the low beam on the projector xenons are dim? When turned on initially they are bright, but once they settle down to their colour temperature (4,300K) they look as if they are not turned on or you can say they blend in with the street lighting. The bulb I'm using is GE Xensation.

Symptom of the headlight electronics ballasts are about to give way.

Mine is 04 pre-Lci. The light is dim too. I notice that Lci one is much brighter.

Why is that? I supposed 6000k should have brighter effect even the ballast is weak? Sorry noob here.

The higher Kelvin the weaker lumens produce. The highest lumens I read from some sources is 4300k stock Hid which is 3400 lumens. Some times if the light is dim mostly due to the housing of the projector lights.

I will try changing the bulb first, see if it helps before I change the ballast. If it's the headlamp problem, might as well one go settle down for the LCI headlamps

Changing to lci light need modification n lighting module. Easily cost 6k+. Do share with me if changing bulb helps.

I was talking to a car accessories shop's boss and he assured that by changing the bulbs to 6000k will improve the brightness. He recommends PIAA.

Has anyone tried?

Bro, i think 5000K or 4300K is good enough..6000K is not friendly to others road user.

bmw7833,
The current Benz C & E class HID appeared to be brighter? Bet the specs are higher than 4300k? Any confirmation?

Ok, outcome done. Change to Philips 4,300K, it's output is brighter than the GE's 4,300K. Readjusted the headlight aim through the headlamps itself and the output has improved. Just need to let the colour settle down to become whitish yellow. Now it's more towards yellow.

I've also spoken to the accessories stores, they advised me to stay at 4,300K as 6,000K has poor visibility in rain.

Sharing the information on HID vs Halogen

For HID, 5000k, 6000k...etc does not mean it's brighter?

HID 5000k (brightness 3200 lm)

Halogen (brightness 1000lm)
