Dear all, Like to ask if any of you had any experience between the 2 said tyres? Its for the e39 on 225/55/16. Was quoted RM 550 for Michelin (Thailand) and RM 520 for Pirelli (China). Appreciate any info on them. Thanks. Regards

Yes, my friend is using them. But he is nor car savvy so nothing comment he give me.

I just replaced 4 new Michelin PS3 ZR for my E60. Feel soft and comfortable but not as quiet as Conti CS3. I feel a little humming sound from the front espcially running on rough pathway. May be my expectation is higher. I still feel my E39's Continental CS3 is better than PS3. it is quiet and very comfortable.

BTW, 550 for PS3 is a good deal cox mine cost 640/pc made in Thailand. just make sure it is ZR version.

Thanks all for your info. And after reading AhTu's comment, it seems CSC3 is worth comparing between the 2 said....will go check out the price.

AhTu, didnt know there was a difference in ZR or non ZR...thought there is only one type of PS3. Can you shed some lights of whats the difference? Totally different thread or different performance rating? Am actually in for a moderate grippy tyre and moderate comfort level, dont want extreme of either but i wonder if there is such tyre :) the search continue...

I am not so sure whether there is a non ZR or not. I was told by my mechanic that ZR is designed to cruise more than 200km/h. He told me there is another type but I couldn't recall what is it. Oh, my set is 225/50/17 for 640/pc.

PS3's grip is just supperd. I made abt 180km/h from JB/KL and KL/JB yesterday and love the feel. light and faster pickup.

As for Conti CSC3, there is a newer type called CSC5. Heard from an experienced tyre man said it is much better than CSC3 but it is more expensive than CSC3 n PS3.

Thanks Ah Tu. Appreciate your feedback. Will update on my decision.

It seems not many had experience the P7? Or maybe its an older tyre compare to PS3 thus not as popular ? Anyone?

Im not sure about this, but i thought theres CSC3 (Conti Sport Contact 3 - latest) and CCC5 (Conti Comfort Contact 5 - latest). Two different version of tyres.

Correct me if Im wrong though.

I have P7's on my Peg 407 and its really suppered in term of handling but rather noisy after reaching 30km of usage.. mine French made

May be you are right, it could be CCC5 insted of CSC5. Cox, I was just quoted verbally at 800/pc for this tyre and they said it is the latest version from Conti. I am sure it is a 5 but I didn't paid attention if it is CCC or CSC. So, please find out from tyre shop.

Thanks all for your comment and info. Had put on 4 PS3 on the e39. Seems like a very popular tyre although not the best. Hope the RM 550 justify itself when i take it to the highway :) Cheers all.

My opinion is to pump nitrogen instead of normal air into the tyres. You can feel the different.

Please share with us what is the difference....

From my experience on my E39 Conti-CSC3 before and after (started brand new tyre, high speed balancing and wheel alignment).

On normal air, I felt harder tyre contact to the road and some vibration. On nitrogen, the tyre is softer, less vibration, less noise and more comfortable. According to tyre man, nitrogen gas contain less moisture and it is much cooler than normal air thus it keep the tyre cooler and spin evenly. It can resist higher preasure and that's why all airplane tyres are using nitrogen. When you buy new tyres, they will not charge you for nitrogen.

My E60 tyres are still on normal air cox the tyre shop does have nitrogen. Will change to N2 later.

Bought Pirelli replaced michelin. After one year plus, one of P7 exploded and separated into 3 pieces in low speed. Never had this with michelin. Price not much diff, pirelli small setup in malaysia not responsible, china got rubber tree? Safety first!

I fell in love with Conti (can't remember which model) for my previous 16 stock standard rim. Now i'm on 18 with F1. Don't like it. Going to change soon.

Pirelli better in 18" 19" low profile tyre..i believe. Small size like 15" or 16"..no comment.
