Some Rims & Tyre Pricing for yr Reference

NCH,

JUst some pricing for yr ref. After i got delivery of my 325i, I sold by 18" 193M rims (used for 1 mth only) for RM4500. And my four pieces of 18" Bridgestone RFT tyres (used for 1 mth only) was sold for RM2500. Don't compare the new RFT price at RM7000 for the whole set bcos BMW Msia buys them in bulk and they probably cost half of that quoted price! Im gonna be honest to you that its almost impossible you to sell yr tyres for RM6k. But u never know, happy trying!

cheers.

i know not brand new, but they're not heavily used also

20% off brand new price already very reasonable i guess

how leh nobody wants my tyres? :) can't wait for Pilot Sport 3

Gilajazz,

So you sold them both for RM 7,000. not bad at all!

what rims did you get after selling the originals?

nch,

I changed to BMW Performance 269 19" rims. Using Toyo tyres non RFT, stagerred set up following BMW recommendations for wheel size; 225/35/19 and 255/30/19. I was already very lucky getting a 'willing buyer, willing seller' just at d right time & place. But my purpose was to give u an indication of d 2nd hand pricing so that it makes u more realistic when ur trying to sell yr stuff. Maybe u get lucky too & get a high price? Problem is if u keep up yr high pricing, then u keep using yr tyres & they will wear out more, and then all hopes of getting a good price is down the drain. So if u plan to change yr rims, then ur better off just changing to yr new rims & types asap, then take yr time selling yr current rims & RFT tyres.

btw, wat rims are on yr car now?

cheers.

Gilajazz,

Yup I know what u meant. Just change the tyres first and worry about selling later because the longer I wait, the more I'll use the tyres and the less money I'll get for them. As I type this, the mileage is already 2200km

I think I'll just go ahead with new tyres but need to figure out transporting the old ones home.

The stock rims are 18" 193M

Since you're not using RTFs anymore, do you carry a spare?

gilajazz, how do you find the toyos? Are you using T1R? Any feedback on how they perform? Thanks,
danc

... I once had 18" Dunlop RFT's abt 80% thread, all 4pcs for 1k also nobody want...but like gilajazz said you never know when you will be lucky..

Yeah I still haven't received any offers. Initially I was thinking of changing the tyres, but now I'm considering 19" rims :D

19" + non-RFTs vs. 18" + RFTs

which ride quality is softer?

BMW Mobility Kit

nch,

Our boot space in E90 is rather scarce, hence no place for any spare rim. Unless ur ok to leave the spare rim on the flat section inside yr boot, and by doing that, you will lose 30% of yr boot area space. And the spare rim & tyre will cost abt RM900, i think.

So i bought the BMW Mobility Kit fr Ingress for abt RM650 i think. In case of small puncture, the sealant will help. If there's a big puncture/big tear, then God help u...Call AAM or BMW Tow Assistance & tow to tyre shop.

If you dont hv any high-end car hifi system in yr car, then yr boot area can fit up to 2 tyres with rims on it. The other remaining 2 tyre & rim will sit on yr rear seats with newspaper as protection.

cheers.

Toyo T1R review

danc,

Personally i think Toyos T1R are good tyres for money well spent. They grip damn good in the dry...but wet (very wet) does not perform so well. But u should not be speeding more than 90 - 100km/h in the wet anyway, so its safe. As u know im using 19", so the T1R are the cheapest 19" brand tyre i can find. Mich PS2's are very good too, in my opinion, as I hv 18" PS2's in my other car. PS2 performs equally as well as in the dry or wet, but they are more expensive like RM250 - 300 more for each tyre in the 19" size. Perhaps PS3 is even better but i hv not tried them, so i will leave it to the other forumers who have used them, to share their reviews on PS3.

So if i can save almost RM300 x 4 = RM1200, that's why i chose Toyo T1R over Mich. Both tyre brand, will not last more than 2 yrs anyway, so why pay more. Unless u hv extra cash, then go for PS2 or 3.

cheers.

Thanks gilajazz. The reason I asked is I used to have a set of toyo (not T1R can't remember what) and I found them becoming noisy after just 10,000 km. Was wondering if the T1R have improved. Since you mentioned you have a set of PS2, how do they compare in terms of noise?

Thx

Thanx fr the review bro..I'm thinking of going for 19s as well, thinking about what tyres to get.

My previous car(e60) had 19" CSC3s on 'em..pretty happy with them but they are pretty costly. My mum is currently running on Toyos on the Msport e60 as well and they feel pretty good as well.
The CSC3s were very nice especially when I had the chance to take my car to Sepang..they were grippy with a lot of feedback, and at the limits of adhesion u get a lot of feel from the steering as to when the tyres are starting to lose grip..very progressive.

How are the T1Rs in that sense?

I believe PS3s don't yet come in 19s so they're out for the moment. The PS2 is so far at the top of my list..just want to know how the T1Rs compare when u really push the car to it's limits.

Bump!

Who wants my runflats for RM 4500? Only done 2400km. Can't wait to get PS3!

Or should I just go 19"? Don't mind the BMW Performance 313

19" a bit heavy unless you go for forged wheels. I switched from 19" to 18", now i get better performance than before. Previously on 19" it took some time to get to 210km/h but now with 18" can touch 240km/h easily. Maybe cause the 19" i used was heavy.

Then again, how often do you drive that fast?

Cheers

BMWs,

Thanks for the feedback. Will survey again. I don't drive so fast actually. I only touched 220km/h once and it only lasted 3 seconds. Palms got sweaty!

313M not forged wheels?
