Map of Malaysia DVD for Navigation system

BMW has just launched new models with the Navigation system, therefore also launching the long awaited GPS Map for Malaysia!
Unfortunately, they cannot confirm if it will actually work in your car, and also it costs RM2.2K

Anyone interested???

For 2.2k nope! I have navigation in my Mini. Just need to get the disc. Any ideas. Wouldnt if they launch a starter pack below 1k but 2.2k for just a disc??

Only thing is, dunno whether or not it will work on my car's NAV system. Apparently the new maps may only work on E60 and newer...Am waiting for an email from BMW Malaysia to confirm everything (price also)

Yes, it is a bit steep for a disc!

As they wont have GPS maps for our smaller towns ... so can one 1) actually get lost in Malaysia's main cities and 2) depend blindly on "Turn LEFT next 50 metres" in our ever changing road directions. Just like the recent Jalan Sultan Ismail's change of traffic flow

Guess its something nice to show to your passenger... with all the "WOW" and "WAH" factors for the first few months.. but not practical unlike GPS for Europe or interstate travel within US

If that's the case (and if that works), we might as well "borrow" from AB or something, then we gonna have a party.

Cheaper to buy a standalone satnav system like Garmin StreetPilot and simply use the malsingmaps which are free of charge and updated continually therefore much more accurate.
I bought my satnav second hand off ebay from a UK buyer and it only cost 150GBP (Approx RM1000).

Since you are getting one already, maybe you can co-ordinate with Calvin and set up something....
