Dear bros,

Wanna seek some advise here, i recently bought a 325i M54 full Tank that so far can reach 400km 100% city drive is that normal With RON95? RON97 even worst lesser than 400KM. Some friends told they can reached 500KM++ which 100% city drive too, wonder is my car problem. If yes, what should i check and diagnose?

Please Help.....

(It's an auto tranny)

Thank you.

I also just own a E46 320i, 2.2 for 2 months too. Pumped a full tank few (about 60 liters) days ago and the mileage clocked was 410+km, which I think also on higher side too.
I think the fuel consumption can be further improved since my scanning result shows that I have some sensor near the cat converter area in NG condition. However, I plan to do the Vanos o-ring and seal exchange first, then only will focus on the sensor repair.

Dear kw90,

thanks for the reply 1st of all, did some scanning and err cleared. so far no sensor error on the car, some said change engine oil, filter which i had did but still remain the same. Wonder should have the plus and ignition coil changed before sensor replace?

THanks

Yup, think normal should be around what bro wingzee ex-325 mileage.

888881,
My existing mileage is after I did my service (eng & GB oil, filters, all spark plugs & ignition coils, vacuum hoses etc), so what I didn't do yet is the vanos seals and sensors repairs. So, if you think your plugs & coils having problem, why not change it too?

I'm using Bosch FGR7DQP, OEM, RM15/pcs from BA.
It's platinum iradium plug.

Oh damn! Serviced my car at Optimum and got charge RM38 per plug. I only saw it's Iridium something but not sure the exact model.

I'm getting around 150km per quarter tank (the white line on fuel gauge). But my driving is 50/50 city/highway. So it's kinda pretty bad when you can do 400km on 100% city driving.

After changing, engine oil, atf oil, plug, air filter, petrol filter.... my car still doing 380km+- only full tank .... Wat could have been wrong ....

Just some experience sharing after I've changed my double vanos seal for about 3 weeks time. The mileage manage to improve to about 12.6l/100km, which mean full tank should able to reach about 480~500km. My next thing need to change is tge adjuster unit (DISA valve), which should improve the air fuel burning ratio and low end pick up (subsequent on fc too)

So, first of all have you suffer serious low end torque and 'hesistation'? If yes, then mostly your double vanos seals need to be replaced and once its.done should able to improve your fc.
Subsequently check your DISA valve condition too. If NG too may need to repair (use repair kit) or replace a better unit.

Thanks Bro. .. just cleaned maf still looking toward the result. But got a better throttle respond for fc will update again.

The seals ordering from eBay :)

Dear sifu's,

Since getting my E46 three years ago, it has been drinking only RON97 till today. Only wanna drink Evian lorr...don't like spritzer.. :D

full tank fill up approx. RM160 +/- and gives me around 500-550km. my weekly mileage is around 300-350km's and plus town drive which comes to approx. 430-450km's.

It doesn't need Evian, it can drink Spritzer with no problem. Its the owner who has been feeding it Evian :)

hahaha....yea bro haywire...dats true... :)

the owner is the one has been feeding it with Evian... :D

My best FC is 8.1L/100km
and my worst is 11.8L/100km
avg is 9.0L/100km

this is actual FC (www.fuelly.com/driver/metalbox/325i)
not from on board computer

btw, mine is 325i M54 manual

Ah..manual. No wonder. I have problem getting the FC below 10L/100KM on the OBC. Fuelly calculation is usually +0.3 to 0.5 to the OBC reading for me.

correct!

my OBC consistently giving 'better mileage'
difference can be up to 1L from actual consumption
