hi guys, for the past few days, i've been searching the net for answers for the questions which was asked by my friend. After few days of hardcore searching, i've gotten few answers but im still not 100% sure some of it. Hope that forum members can chip in as well.1) is the m50b20 using the same ECU 413 red label as the m50b25?2) Lets say if i can get hold of a m50b20 halfcut and m52b28 engine kosong, is it possible for me to use the internals of the m52 into the m50 and use the m50 ECU? expected cost for swapping the internals?3) Is it worth it to buy the complete m52 halfcut or rather stick to the m50b20 halfcut and swap in the internals?4) when you convert the internals, is it consider a full overhaul where i have to change the piston rings on the piston?5) i read from the net that the m50 manifold have better flow rate than the m52 and need to convert from OBD2 to OBD1, does this mean that if i use the m50 manifold on the m52 blocki cant use the wiring and have to source a m50b25 wiring?thx you for reading and please let me know if you have the answer. Thx youChris

1) is the m50b20 using the same ECU 413 red label as the m50b25?

- NO

2) Lets say if i can get hold of a m50b20 halfcut and m52b28 engine kosong, is it possible for me to use the internals of the m52 into the m50 and use the m50 ECU? expected cost for swapping the internals?

-NO ...U need to bold the block .....Not direct swap ....The M50B20 head also not suit for 2.8 internal ...U need to change to M50B25 head to be save ....
If ur car is M50B25 then its direct swap....

3) Is it worth it to buy the complete m52 halfcut or rather stick to the m50b20 halfcut and swap in the internals?
- Better buy the M52 half cut .......M50b20 need to do a lof of thing for the internal swap...

4) when you convert the internals, is it consider a full overhaul where i have to change the piston rings on the piston?
- YES ......better do it .....

5) i read from the net that the m50 manifold have better flow rate than the m52 and need to convert from OBD2 to OBD1, does this mean that if i use the m50 manifold on the m52 blocki cant use the wiring and have to source a m50b25 wiring?
- No need to change the wiring ........Just direct swap with some modification .......Meaning if ur car is M52B25 or M52B28 with OBD II siemen system ......Just do the swap without changing the wiring harmness .......

Happy modding .......

I believe you need to fabricate a bracket to mount in the M50 intake manifold to nicely fit into your M52 engine.
