e30 questions

hi all brosss, is thinking of buying e30.honestly speaking, to drift and a little of town driving.the problems:1.jap engine better or bmw engine better? currently looking at 1g gte twin turbo and few m20.2.if wanna drift, which bmw engine supposed to plant in? or m30? or m50b25 enough? i mean enough for drifting? how much approximately for these engines?3. if m30 or m50 or m20, bolt a turbo on will cost approximately how much and where?thanks for your help..

if u're tight on $$$, better get a Toyota KE70 as drift car....
Easier to set up for drift and cheaper in the long run....

E30 a bit too heavy to start off with... And better to have a 4 cylinder engine for better handling balance...

agree with fabian...most of the people who started drift will choose toyota ke70,light weight body easy to drift.it also can make it as a daily drive.

and most important.. where can i find half cut of m20 or m42 or m50.. any known popular shop to get these engines?

Any car oso can drift, but BMW parts would be more expensive, and body parts not easily sourced now. Especially for drifting, u want to have spare this spare that...
the 2 door E30 oso have rust problem since most are pre facelift models which are not with galvanised body panels and chassis.

For engine weight, u can ask Mr Google.... can easily find...

I never hentam anyone if they want to convert jap engine... Each to their own... but for me, if want a jap engine in the E30, must be the F20C from the Honda S2000... hehehe....

haha.. dont worry.. got the experienceSS by reading through most of the previous threads..
anyway.. wat i can say is i still appreciate "BMW" even IF one day i transplant jap engine. the truth is i have chosen the "BMW"(chasis) rather than others.. although chasis only for the mean time.

anyway now i am sourcing the ori BMW heart for the e30..(not so ori.. need transplant also.. hehe) to be able to drift "a bit more" easily.. i believe m20b20 is kinda underpower.

1. all sifuss, any source for m50b25 or m20b25/7 or m30 selling out there? with LSD..?

2. heard old klang road having guys who bolt turbo to m20? is it a good idea to go turbo? and WHICH BMW engine more suitable in durability for future turbo upgrade?

Besides F20C, the similarly 4-potted Altezza's 3S-GE engine may be a cheaper alternative, although arguably its less powerful. But i'm not sure whether such a transplant been done before.
