I've long to do this and finally get it done...was advised to use semi synthetic for the first 1000km and then change to fully synthetic, any thoughts? I am a bit doubtful bout such old engine using fully synthetic...

So far the car runs much much quieter and smoother...very happy and satisfied so far but have yet to rev it high :) waiting till the next oil change before I try its limit :)

Thats all folks....hope you guys enjoy the photos.

Regards

Hi chillie, its getting noisier as a few things are pretty worn ie rocker, lifters and just thought might as well do it all and enjoy the car. Was told to buy another engine but prefer to keep it original though just an M40....i am quite satisfy with the power and the driving pleasure...cant help but to say all this 6 years driving it, its sheer driving pleasure :)

Cost me quite a bit though...bout RM 7k all in. Here is hoping it will give me more nice driving experience. Of course, cant compare to bro Mizhan's effort and passion, not yet. :)

anyway...good job

I overhauled my M40 recently too. If you're wondering about full synthetic, I'm running on 5w-40 Bardahl. :D

what?!?!?! that's a seriously low mileage car bro!

mine clocked 260 K when i laid it to rest ....

thanks for sharing the pictures and it was great to see an M40 being set to alive again ....m40 rock solid engine ...

Thanks all for ur kind words. Am glad to have a community who share the same passion and who would understand why I spend that kind of money on a 20 yr old car....the drive now is just so smooth...:)
