Hi all bros and sifus, thinking of transplanting m20b25 in to my m20 520I. Any idea if there is a significant improvement in pick up and low end torque. Also do I need to change the ecu, throttle body, AFM etc to experience a significant change? Would also be grateful for any input on price! Thanks!:)

Well the M20B20 is putting out 129BHP and I think the M20B25 puts outs 169BHP so there is an increase of 40BHP which is pretty significant so you'll definately feel the difference in power. I have seen a car which did this transplant and reused back a lot of the M20 parts like the AFM, ECU, etc and the engine runs great. Not sure if it would be down slightly on power tho since its using the B20 parts. Perhaps one of the other sifu could advise you on that.

Why not ask Lionel? Believed he converted his ex-E34 from M20B20 to M20B25....:D
