M Speed : Mixed Review...

let me add something here ... it's not really fair you call him a conjob. Reality always like that. When something goes wrong to someone, he is a conjob.

I don't have any problem going to Mspeed, i think there are human and doing business. (If you know what i mean)

I took my ride to MSpeed immediately after I have them...

Even after spending close to RM8k on wear & tear stuffs..my ride now runs problem free. Mostly preventive measures..

As for any paying customer, we all need to be a bit resourceful on our type of rides. All mechs will say this & that, coz thy all are biz ppl...We can always say "no" and get a 2nd opinion elsewhere..

It's not fair on the title of this thread, it shd be solved between customer & supplier basis shd there be a dispute. Putting up a thread as such is a detriment to ppl's rice bowl.

They are not perfect, so r we. All mechs will have their own + and - points.

As for me, Mspeed has come a fair bit since last year. I've noticed thy have bucked up as compared previously. He also does a lot of housecalls & breakdown services for most of our udm owners...

Agree on the 'no' part. I've had my own share of displeasure but what I do is I go back and explain. With some reasoning, MSpeed will accept fault and work through the difficulties. If Ameng is not sure, he will call someone for help, especially electrical.

For the 3 young guys there. I've spoken to John about it and would rather have John or Ameng work on my car. FYI, I've frequented M-Speed for more than 3 years already. During that period, I've also gone to BMWorld Desa Pandan, BMWorld Cheras (the two not related), German Mechanics.

In the end, back to MSpeed. I am sure there are good ones out there but since we all know these are not certified specialists, we have to be wary of their limitations. We are paying for the un-certified prices anyway. This is the use of this forum. To gain better knowledge and not be taken for a ride by any mechanics. Cheers all.

Not had my 325 long enough to make a meaningful comment, but I wouldn't call it a conjob as well. Even doctors differ in opinion. Some say you need surgery, some say take medicine enough. It is our prerogative as customers to seek a second opinion if you feel you are not getting the best advise. But I would say from all my and my friend's dealings with Ah Meng so far, he has NEVER forced anything on anyone. Today my pal took his ride to check up. Ah Meng could have told him this and that, but he said "your ride is still good. No need to change anything" Does that sound like someone who sets out to con people? I just think it was a genuine mis-diagnosis from Ah Meng. Nothing intentional.

I think enough have been said here for all to consume. Mspeed rice bowl has been severely effected by this.

I hope the Moderators will remove or lock this thread as this board shall not be held responsible for any loss of business by Mspeed arising from this thread.

let me requote what I posted:

There are tonnes and tonnes of unauthorised BMW specialists out there.. and bear in mind that personal recommendations posted here can either be sincere recommendations, or recommendations with a 'return favour' from the mechanic.

However, if any of u do come across a 'recommended' mechanic who doesn't make the cut, please point it out here as a warning, but do not need to crucify the mechanic. This is to be fair to the mechanic as it could have been a genuine blooper. Nevertheless, if there is a sizeable number of negative comments on any particular mechanic, then others should start paying attention.

Also take note that not all mechanics are all-rounders, the mechanic maybe good in one area but not so in others. Another thing is to know the price of parts. Price quotes can be easily obtained by calling the parts dealers ie. Bavarian Auto, First Division, etc etc.

It's has nothing to do with "official workshop" elsewhere. It's about affecting other ppl rice bowl and not about expecting whatsoever "return favor" as well. We may not know the full story and it could just be some miscommunication as said above.

There's dozen of workshops out there as said by Fab, but why single out this poor outlet? Has thy done the same to many others as well?
